Oh shoot did it again.
The first pictures show the infamous “tortugas” or turtles. These creatures appear alone on the road but are normally in large families. If you try to cross them, especially in the eain, you will regret it.
The other pictures show some of the places from today’s ride including Tres Marias. Tres Marias is the Mexico City’s Biker’ hangout. It is about 50kms from the city on the way to Cuernavaca.

There's something about Mexican roads wanting to destroy your vehicle. I still have nightmares about the Tope's in Tulum

How about the topes as you cross the border? They are staggered multiple lines of them so you can't ride between them. Usually 2 or 3 sets across the lane and you can't go around either.

I left Mexico City on my way to the rally in Tellico Plains with a group of bikers. It was an interesting ride. The bikes were very varied, Yamaha R3s, Honda XRE300s, BMW F650, Harley, Chinese 250 etc.
It was a long day to get to Media Luna through Sierra Gorda. Lots of curves and spectacular scenery.
After around 10 hours of riding 2 of the girls collasped on the grass to try to recover.
Camping in Mexico usually involves lots of beer and no Quiet Hour. This time it involved some howling at the full moon at around 3am. Unfortunately I am not a drinker or a howler. I did, however, have a good time.

When you come to Mexico people will go to great lengths to make sure your bike is safe in the Hotel. I barely got in and out without destroying something.

Camping in Rio Lagartos, Yucatan. This was before I got my Tenere. We went to Argentina and back on the V-Strom but wemt through 3 chain and sprocket sets to do it. I bought the Tenere a month after getting home and haven't bought a chain since.

I was riding earlier this month in Arizona with two friends that had Africa Twin's. I commented I don't think I would ever want to own an adventure bike without a shaft. Said this about my Tenere with 120k miles that I've already saved more than $1,000 on chain and sprocket sets. They both initially laughed but then thought about it for a second, realizing I was 100% correct and then got quiet.

Nice Friday morning ride in the mountains. This is Top of the World Road at least that is what I call it. There is a spectacular view down into the canyon with the river at the bottom. You will have to come to Mexico to get that view.

Neat pictures and thanks for sharing. Any comments or advice about riding my S10 through Baja? Years ago my wife and I used to visit San Felipe on the Sea of Cortez so I was thinking about going there this winter. Enjoy the ride.

I haven't been to Baja in over 15 years so can't give you much advice. I think you don't even need to get a TVIP to go to Baja but I could be wrong.
