Greetings my first time posting. I need some wisdom. In February I ordered a new bike loaded (1200), cases every thing. I was told May it should arrive, then June, Up here in northern Minnesota
we only have a month or two of summer (I still ride at least 25,000 miles a year). Iv found a dealer about 500 miles away who has a bike, but just the bike no cases or the rest. Im finding after market
complete luggage set ups are out of stock, so if I buy that bike might be difficult to find every thing I need. Any way what to do, wait for the one I ordered to arrive (I have my trusty old V-Strom), or buy
this other one ? Im also thinking maybe some of you know where to find the luggage and such.
Well gotta get to church, God bless you all

Greetings and welcome to the forum. If you are looking for the Yamaha luggage set up, it looks like Rocky Mountain ATV has everything in stock. The Yamaha cases work pretty well but are a kind of expensive. Otherwise try suppliers like Touratech, Happy Trails, Jesse, etc... Also, Revzilla or Twisted Throttle may have what you're looking for. Be aware that the Yamaha cases are plastic. My 2013 came with the Yamaha cases and have held up just fine with no issues. Good luck.

Also, that new bike should come with a set of 3 locks and keys that fit the Yamaha luggage. There are a few other small companies around that make side cases and top boxes but I can't recall their names right now. I'm sure some of the other members will chime in.

100% go for the bike without the cases. I bought my bike specifically because it had the OEM cases, ran them for one tour before dropping a crap ton of money on a set of Givi Trekker Outbacks.

The OEM bags are ok and have a sleek mount, but there are a bunch of drawbacks. The locks are fiddly, there are no mounts to strap things on top, they have limited storage space despite the visual size. They're also not very robust and can deform/break with minimal impact.

Super happy with my Givi Trekker Outbacks, have no regrets.

If you like the look of the 'Raid' edition the luggage is simply Givi Outback rebadged as Yamaha.

As far as I can see the only major difference is that with the Yamaha Raid cases you can use your ignition key, they have Yamaha on them rather than Givi and they cost a lot more money!
