Looking for laminated warm leather waterproof short cuff gloves. Alot of gloves now have leather palms and textile backs. I dont like gloves that soak up water. Any sugestions. My favorite summer glove is Held Summertime 2 . I just wish they made a winter version.

We used to use some Alpinestars gloves when it got real cold. I can't remember which model, but they were very good; almost too warm.

A while ago, I looked at some Held winter all leather gloves, but didn't like the over $200 price for a glove I would not wear that much. I had a pair of Olympia all leather winter gloves that were inside of one of my saddlebags, that got stolen. I loved those gloves for the all leather wind blocking feature. I wound up replacing them with some Klim Gor-Tex backed (so called winter) gloves that only the palms were leather. The first time I wore them, I didn't like them. Too much airflow on the back of the hand. I am also concerned about them soaking thru in a downpour. Luckily I have those lobster claw Gor-tex over cover gloves from Aerostich. They are waterproof and windproof and good for at least another 20* lower temp. I don't like how slippery they are tho. I too would like to find a nice laminated warm leather waterproof glove at a decent cost.

I went thru the same thing a couple years ago. I wear and really like my Rukka Viriums for wet weather, but below 30 degrees the didn't cut it even with the heated grips. Went with a heated jacket liner and gloves, and never looked back. It's not uncommon for me to ride in single digits temps this time of year.

Actually now that I think about it, if I was going to do a lot of riding in the cold, and wet. . . . I'd use those things they make for snow mobiles. They attach to the handle bar, completely covering everything. That way you can wear thin gloves for clutch/throttle feel, but stay warm and dry.

I got them on they are great. My problem is i prefer short cuffs that tuck under the sleeves and the cuffs on my Klim jacket are tight.

I used a set of Hippo Hands on my GS. The heated grips on that bike were incredibly hot, so regular rain gloves and the Hippo's worked great. The Oxford heated grips on my Stelvio get plenty warm, but not nearly as warm as the GS grips. So I turned to heated gloves. Held on to the Hippo Hands and am planning on trying them out on my Super Tenere when it gets here next week.

Get yourself a set of Tucana Urbana handlebar muffs. Yes, I know they don’t look “cool”, but handsome is as handsome does and you can wear your favourite summer gloves all year round. https://www.urbanrider.co.uk/brands/tucano-urbano/bar-muffs.html

Yep I have the heated jacket - glove, heated grip combo. I bought the Tusk version of the Hippo hands a couple of years ago. They didn't fit very well on on my bike, so I never used them. They are free if someone wants to pay the shipping. There are not many instances anymore where I am going to ride for any length of time where the temps are going to be consistently below 25-30* standing still. With my lobster claws and heated gear, I've ridden in temps as low as 5*. I start having problems with my non heated feet in the colder temps, which brings up a whole other issue.

Gortex is designed to transport moisture from the warm environment towards the cold environment. I learned the hard way that if it’s raining and you have your heated grips on, the water flows into your Glove

When it is really cold, use a pair of latex gloves under your regular winter gloves. They keep your hands much warmer and they are inexpensive.

I tried that once. If you use grip heaters, it makes your hands sweat. Once you're not holding the grips anymore, you end up with cold wet hands that squirm inside of the gloves. It probably works better if you're going to stay on the grips.

MY last iteration was using heated glove liners, similar to the silk ones. With the dual zone wireless controller, I could dial in the exact amount of heat needed (I didn't have heated grips on my Gen 1), and I still had good feel on the controls.

Hi. I take a size 12 in a held winter glove. I now want to try warm n safe heated glove liners and intend using a waterproof unlined glove on top. Trouble is I can't find a glove big enough to do this. Due to lockdown I'm getting gloves via mail and then sending back when they don't fit. So far the largest held and richa gloves are too small. Does anyone with big hands have any solutions to this please?

Yep!!!!!!

The only thing I would suggest is if you sweat getting bigger ones to go OVER your gloves. either way they block the wind.

True story:
We were on a 450 D/S and it was cold, I was ok but my buddy was cold and mad. We hit a Dollar General in Shit town TN. He bought pink dishwashing gloves, 3 for a few bucks. Threw away the pair at lunch and used a second set back to camp.

He never did get dish pan hands.
