Bought my Tenere used last year with a windshield that says Super Tenere on it but it's not the stock windshield, not sure exactly how your supposed to measure it but its roughly 20 inches tall, coming from a nice quiet Goldwing I find the wind noise on the Tenere pretty annoying so after all these miles I'm considering switching to a different windshield, what would you recommend ? I'm 5'10" with a 32 inseam.

Search the forum - Lots of threads on windshields. In summary, the stock windshield or the optional Yamaha tall windshield are not so good at highway speeds. I saw great improvements by using side wind deflectors, the Yamaha tall windshield and a top spoiler.

I use a Givi Airflow with 15mm spacers in the bottom mounting positions and highly recommend it.

Right now this Cee Bailey windshield seems like it might be what I'm looking for, it's the 22 inch model which is what Cee Bailey recommends for a rider my size, it's about 2 inches taller and 4 inches wider than the windshield I'm using now, does anyone here have experience with this particular Cee Bailey windshield ? It would cost $166 delivered to my house by FedEx.

Yes I have read a lot of the old threads about windshields but the Tenere has been around for six years now and I'm sure many folks have tried a few different windshields by now so I was hoping to maybe learn a little more from their current experience. Yes I already have the side wind deflectors. The spoiler I tried worked fantastic but I was worried that it caused to much flexing of my tall windshield so I sold the spoiler to another board member with a stock windshield and last I heard he was loving it.

I am 5' 11" with a 32" inseam and the Puig touring windshield works great for me. I had the Cal-Sci medium windshield before but didn't like it. It was great as far as smoothing the airflow but it whistled badly over 35 mph.

With your height, any touring windscreen in the middle or higher settings should make the air go completely over the top of your helmet. If it doesn't and you still aren't happy, you will need an even taller windshield and you will be looking through the windshield rather than over the top of it. Some people don't mind looking through the windshield but most hate it, very much a personal preference type thing.

Which ever windshield you get. It will be better with a Madstad bracket.
+1 To be able to adjust the angle of attack of the screen is a big plus.

Thanks for all your replies !
Seems like there are no board members using the 22 inch Cee Bailey windshield ?
The Puig touring screen is 19.6 inch inches tall, that's about 1.5 inches taller than what I'm currently using, it might work great for me but I just don't know and hate to spend the money and not be happy.
Madstad brackets I might be willing to try but when I put them in the shopping cart it says unavailable, how much did you have to pay for the Madstad brackets ?

Can't remember how much the Madstad brackets costed me - it was a couple of years ago. But they were reasonably priced (not cheap though). And yes, they've been out of stock for some time now (the Gen 1 brackets).

No matter how tall a windshield you get, they are all narrow because of the handlebars and how they interfere with the width.
This makes any side wind come right in and buffet you.

I guess this makes the Tenere a 'fair' weather bike....... ::013::
Supposedly the 22 inch Cee Bailey is 4 inches wider at the top than the tall Super Tenere windshield I am using now and the side cutouts do not interfere with the mirrors, looks like $166 delivered to my house. Sure wish I could hear from someone that has tried this Cee Bailey windshield.

I'm running the 22". What did you need to know? It's 16" wide about 4" down. It swoops in a bit then it's about 15.25" further down. Mine is on a '12 and a Touratech bracket. I like it. Better wind management than the CalSci, though shorter.

Interesting idea !

OK, tested my idea and it works! No more side wind buffeting, just like my cruisers I've had in the past.
Idea came to me after I seen a review on a new Road Glide with that big frame mounted fairing up front.
The guy said he couldn't see the road right in front of him!

The Tenere windshield is pretty far forward (frame mounted) and the handlebar swing keeps it narrow.
Then I thought, handlebar mounted windshield!
Now you're thinking ' this guys a nut!'...........................correct-o-mundo! ::001::

I put my cut-down stock shield on front, had a piece of old (wide) windshield for prototyping and slapped it on,
mind you, to my custom handle bars (3.5" rise), and walla! looks stupid but works pretty good!
Now just need to determine a final shape, better mounting (got that figured out already) and ride off into the sunset........................

then turn around and come home cause I don't know anybody in that direction. ::)
