California scientific has a screen that should help you , and not to expensive .
I have their screen and to me its the best screen I've found so far. I would buy it again .

Nice to head that the Airflow works great. I have tried once, but was really disappointed.
I have ordered a MRA small sport screen, curious what that will do.
Just keep in mind I installed the Givi Airflow on a Madstad bracket (which also allows you to change the angle). I think most windscreens will do better on the Madstad...Same on my Africa Twin what made the biggest difference was a Batzen bracket allowing more adjustment of the stock windscreen.

I have the Vstream tall 24" one ordered. I'm 6'1" and ride with my seat in the high position for the leg room. The stock screen is killing me at 70mph plus. I also ordred the brace brackets for stock mount since the taller screen will surely move/bounce the mount even more as well as my phone. Hopefully that will cure my buffeting.... We'll see and I'll report back with the results. Loving this bike so far coming from a 2018 Harley Heritage Classic and a 2016 Suzuki GSX-S1000F. Traded the Harley for the S10 and don't regret it at all.

I'm 6'1" and the 2 biggest improvements I did was:
- The flat seat mod (plenty youtube videos on that)
- A 35$ ebay air cushion
- Lowered pegs (the legroom difference is amazing).
- Givi Airflow windscreen on Madstad bracket

You can thank me later :)

I am interested in this topic.

I am about 6'3" and have a 2010 model. I too have been chasing the best setup for me.

I have tried the Standard, Tall, added deflector and now the VStream Touring (2nd tallest) but still searching. Also added the side deflectors and a Madstad bracket a while back.

Waiting on a small deflector and if that doesn't work I'm going to put on the smallest screen I can, ,maybe even modify one to suit the brackets.....

How are you taller guys finding your search for a windshield that is working for you? I am looking at: Givi, Madstad, Yamaha Tall, V-Stream, Puig Touring, ???
I have a 2016 with the side deflectors, 6'1" tall 35" legs.
Thanks

I have the windscreen that replace the OEM one.
It is wider and about 4" taller.
As I said I am just 176cm ( 5'9" I think)...
There is a givi airflow, second hand, on sale here subito.it
I try to attach a link
I think that's the one i have with an MRA spoiler on top.

Goodday,

And again, a question about windscreens. I'm a longer person than average, 200cm or 6"6'.
And the XT1200ZE is a really nice bike, rides perfect, but the buffeting is driving my crazy.
I've tried several screens:
- Original
- Original with spoiler
- Givi Airflow without brackets
- Airflow with Madstad brackets
- No screen at al

And, the last solution is the best til now. But it looks ugly and there is a lot of pressure on the chest and helmet at highway speeds.

What should I do? I'm thinking of the tall Vstream screen, or a small MRA/ Touratech screen.
I use the bike every day, when it is not getting better there is no other solution than buy another bike with better protection. This is really irritating.

Thanks a lot,
Paul de Vries
I’m a little shorter at 6’4” & have the Puig screen fitted, much improved airflow compared to the OEM screen & cleared any buffeting i had previously.

I have a Givi on mine. I also have one of those MRA adjustable wings on it as well. They are great when it's raining.

Had a Madstad on My Tiger800. The only set up that actually worked. I believe you can just buy the bracket and use any screen with it. I may be wrong though.

6’2” 34” inseam. Slightly annoyed by stock windshield buffeting. If I hunch about 2-3 inches it’s dead calm. I just started looking at that calsci and hope to try them. Hoping I don’t end up with worse buffeting overall by going bigger. Mainly pursuing getting a bigger windshield because my XTZ is my cold weather bike and I want to be a little warmer on it. Any tips or furthering this discussion is appreciated. I’ll check back and see what y’all post

Hi there,

I'm 1.94m tall and even if i find the OEM screen OK for daily use, it's a bit of a "jack of all trades" and on a recent long trip, it's still not the best option for comfort when the miles add up quickly ( wind noise on top of my helmet, being the main "thing" )

So....for a daily use, short trips, i'm now using the tinted MRA Vario-Touring screen....it's 6 cm shorter than the OEM, but when the spoiler is up, it does a good job, similar to the OEM but adds a sportier look to the bike.

And.... for longer trips, those that require adding side and top cases, i got the PUIG Touring...it's really big, certainly not sporty ( it give the bike barn door aerodinamics ), but really sturdy and makes it possible to ride with the visor up at higher speeds, if i want to ( tested it at 170 km/h or 105 Mph ). With that thing on, i feel like i'm a Goldwing, ready to tour around the world ! :D

I'm 6'6", 38" inseam.

I have the small Touratech windscreen at the lowered position for all riding conditions. No buffeting, and enough wind so my helmet vents properly.

I know I'm an outlier, since highway speed winds don't bother me, as long as I'm not stuck behind someone in their dirty, swirly air. Tall windscreens make me sweat too much

6'10" here with 38" inseam.
On my '12 I've got a Vstream shield mounted in the upper position with a cheap Amazon spoiler on the top.
This gets my helmet just out of the buffeting zone and I'm still looking over the top.
Similar set-up on my '05 FJR1300 (+ shield is adjustable, works great).

Hi guys,

I've asked the guys if they could make a one-off version of the Vario-Touring screen ( 6 cm longer ) and it has arrived.

Standard version is 39 cm ( plus spoiler ), while the Yamaha screen is 45 cm and the Puig Touring is 60cm ( super effective, but too big and kills the bike looks, imho )

This version of the MRA is 45 cm tall, i can ride at 140 km/h comfortably...just leaning a bit forward will deflect most wind-blast from the top of my helmet.

With the spoiler up, it adds about 5cm above the screen height ( 50 cm total ), and has an effect on deflecting air upwards. In that configuration, i can even ride with the visor up at 140 km/h, just by leaning just a bit forward, in a natural riding position at speed.

For a tall guy ( 1.94m or 6,36 ft ), i find this option a good compromise between looks and functionality.
