We just rode on 395 from San Bernardino to Bishop with a crazy 40 mph wind....behind us.

:)

It was awesome, I hit 80 mpg at some point and there was no noise at all...

Wind just takes some getting used to.

Last year I rode across Canada and back, the prairies were a bitch on Hwy 1 with a strong sidewind. Bike was of course fully loaded for a month on the road, so huge side profile.

Like others have said, stay loose, anticipate the wind changing when passing semi's large structures, over / underpasses etc, but don't let anticipation turn into tension on the bars on in your body. If you listen to music, put some on and groove to it, helps me stay loose when riding in the wind.

I remember passing through Goldendale, just north of the Columbia river gorge years ago and getting buffeted so badly on a loaded KLR it almost moved me into the other lane of traffic. Wind sucks :)
