Any pics on how they are supposed to be installed on a 2014+. I've seen them both ways now and an confused.

Both ways? There's only one way - the deflector part that comes out horizzontally has to be at the top.

Left side

Position the deflector so that the mount bend is down and is at the rear,... most of the winglet is forward of the mount.
You will work it out now.

That's the way I had mine but I was told they are supposed to be mounted the other way, where they lay flat. Pretty funny that they are able to be mounted on either side.

Is it an optical illusion or did your winglet render your outlet inoperable?
[cough] yes [/cough] that is an issue when original owner puts a powerlet there... and i added wings.

I will later remove the powerlet and put it elsewhere and fill hole with a rubber plug.

here is my Install Instructions

You can see in the left side winglet pic how the long part of the winglet points forward.

Well it looks like mine were right and I was tricked into switching them. I haven't rode it with them backwards yet, I'm going to see if I can tell any difference.

Well it looks like mine are backwards lol. I feel like mine look a bit better my way, a bit less "obvious." Granted - seeing the other pictures now they look more effective when installed properly.

Interesting - mine helped a ton as-is. It'll be interesting to see how much more they help when flipped.

I would like to run one backwards and one the right way to see the difference, however that would take 2 sets.

about the best I can do (zoom in):

As I recall the bigger problem was the hardware they came with. In a fair number Yamaha sent out (mine)
the threads on the plastic bolts do not match those on the retainer nuts (no way, no how). A trip to the
hardware short may be in order....

I installed the deflectors yesterday. It drove over an hour on freeway, I also have the tall Yamaha windscreen with them. OMG the air deflection is soooo good. Too good actually, the only brawvack is you lose sense of how fast you are going :)

I got them from an Amazon seller, refurbished for $65. Highly recommended!

I installed mine a few days ago and love how they work. I have the MadStad adjustable bracket set on high and can really tell the difference. WORD OF CAUTION...save yourself the frustration before trying to install them with the crappy plastic screws they ship with, and get yourself some metric bolts to put into the rubberized well nuts!
