This is something like #5 of these radio personalities in only the last 6 weeks. Anti-vax, making fun of AIDS victims, . . .

Karma's both a bitch and a real thing. I wonder how many died because of his poisonous lies to keep his show ratings up.

Announcer Phil Valentine went from anti-vax to telling people to get the shot when he was dying. While I doubt it, maybe their deaths can save some of their followers by getting vaccinated.

I've seen more than a few people on the news say that they wish that they had been vaccinated if/when they recover from the virus. One in particular. . . . local news reported on an 17 year old girl that succumbed to the virus. Her parents had been anti-vax until their daughter's death. Now, they're getting vaccinated.

For some of us more - ahem - "senior" folk

Booster shots are becoming available and I was able to get one today when I took my daughter to get her second shot. What I just learned is that till about 2 weeks from now, boosters are generally only given to 65+ with compromised immune systems BUT they are being really generous on what that means. Generally, immunocompromised people are thought to be patients with things like AIDS, cancer treatments, organ replacement drugs etc. However, there are a number of conditiions that are generally not recognized and don't need a doctor's verification which can get a 65+ person in today. After the nurse asked about all sorts of things on a list, one that sheread off was occasionally having itchy dry psoriasis, and acknowledging that was all it took.

I read about this, just deserts I would say. People like him are very dangerous to other less well informed people who trust politically and then buy into their other views. Politics won't kill you but the virus does.

Yup, 'cuz, contrary to "their" political beliefs. . . . the virus is real. . . . and, it doesn't give a damn about your political affiliation(s).

My conclusion is the vaccine is more effective than bombastic rhetoric at preventing or reducing the effects of COVID

Just a comment on the original poll. People should check their original response and update as appropriate. I'm guessing many like me originally said yes, but have since received the vaccine.

I'm sure the US members have seen the recent impact of politics on the implementation of a 3rd dose of the vaccine. The FDA, disregarding the manufacturers data, and the real life results in Israel, have decided that the 3rd dose is not need for most Americans. The FDA claims to be following the science. Doesn't that science come from Pfizer, and Moderna? I know it their science that developed the vaccine. The FDA claims they want to get the unvaccinated covered before they go with the 3rd dose. In this country, if you're not vaccinated by now . . . . you don't want to be. My opinion: for what ever reason(s), politics is being used to perpetuate the virus.

Guess I just have to go "get my first dose" at my 8 month date. I'm following the science too.

Interesting observations. So far all the people I know or have heard of that were fully vaccinated and had a breakthrough infection, were vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine. I was thinking maybe that was just because it was more widely used. Then I caught a blurb on TV last night talking about the booster controversy. What really caught my attention was a comment that there’s evidence the Moderna vaccine appears to be providing longer lasting immunity than the Pfizer one. No idea what source was being quoted, but I found it pretty interesting given my own observations.
