Wow!! The country is looking really good right now as far as the downturn of COVID cases. Eating out was a treat for myself, wife and mother in law. Carol and I get our 2nd shots in a few days. Then about a month from now I will be able to see my parents and hug and kiss them. I have only seen my mom and dad through a screen door all masked up for over the last year.

My mothers heart surgery was very dicy as the COVID cases were using up all the respirators and hospital facilities. This stuff has really negatively affected almost everyone worldwide.

The naysayers of the vaccine can spout off how unsafe it is all they want. The numbers don't lie. COVID cases are going down everywhere people are getting the vaccine.

The numbers would be even better if it weren't for the few hotspots.
I heard about Michigan. WTF? The black square in TX, is probably going to be Lubbock. . . . a college town, go figure. I'm not sure I'm buying that map though. It's showing hotspots where there shouldn't be, and low numbers where there should be hotspots. For example: the Navajo Reservation has more cases than San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco? And, the panhandle of Texas is pretty desolate, but, it's a hotspot.

I live in Barnet, North London. The South African strain is here so they are sending out letters to get people doing flow testing. However i have colleagues at work who dont want to even get that done, citing the chip in the arm and i dont want them having my DNA. Whats the point in flow testing if people duck out citing bullshit reasons. I told them well what you going to do if you need to have a blood test, refuse it ?. Wether people accept it or not religion seems to be playing a big part in all this. My view is if you choose to live in a democracy you have to accept all that goes along with it and not cherry pick what fits your narrative.
And if you choose to live in a dictatorship you’ll be told what to do anyway!

Mapping statistics makes oddities like those regularly and the cause is usually due to a really low population or low density of people per square mile. In those cases, just having a couple of cases make it look like a horrible hot spot or vice versa.

I've seen that before, but, 100k people is a 100k people. I know that the Michigan thing is real, all the media is reporting their surge. Weird that it's the only state having that big of a problem.

It really is getting bad again in Michigan. I have friends who are nurses in several large hospitals and they share that COVID patient intake has skyrocketed.

Why so bad many ask? I think that Whitmer's lockdowns, which many considered excessive, have pissed off enough folks that they are doing whatever they want. I've noticed a lot of people not wearing masks and businesses not enforcing it. Restaurants which are only supposed to be at 50% capacity, many are filling every seat desperately trying to make up lost income - they don't want to be a statistic and lose everything with a permanent closure.

Statistically, killing your customers with covid would become the statistic...

We have the same thing here yet the numbers are down. I imagine the problem is simply that citizens in high COVID infected areas are refusing to believe science and not get vaccinated. In my part of the country, we have been fighting to get the vaccine.

Down here, when the mask mandate was lifted, more people wore them. They'll wear them as long as the "Man" doesn't tell them to.

According to that map, California is good to go. . . . contrary to what I've been seeing in the media.

Just driving around and what I see locally it's looking good. The bars not so much. Almost all of them have been thumbing their nose at the rules.

On a very serious note, I am so very grateful this vaccine was made available to Carol and I. It was very upsetting to see non citizens and the dregs of our society being hand chosen to get vaccinated first over the ones who are hard working taxpayers and those who truly should have had it first.

I am 100% convinced the distribution and availability (in my state) was politically motivated. It was sickening seeing our governor going into poor neighborhoods, prisons, homeless encampments, etc and suddenly changing the availability to favor his voting base.

Almost all biznesses here (Ms.) are operating normal. Restaurants are packed. The masks have really gone down. I went to a big hardware store today. Masks are scarce and no enforcement at all. They want your money. My old friend that works there said "people are dumbassaes". He dodges customers without a mask.

This is a consequence of some of her capricious and unreasonable restrictions. It destroys her credibility and folks won't believe her now even when she promotes reasonable ones.

Also, the Michigan supreme court ruled that her executive orders on the COVID 19 restrictions were unconstitutional. This was about extending her original state of emergency order. The same thing happened here in Wisconsin. Since the orders were lifted, it's been a free for all with bars and restaurants full and not much mask wearing. The Wisconsin state legislature has no plan to address any COVID 19 controls. In fact their actions have put millions of dollars of federal assistance in jeopardy. Wisconsin seems to be doing a good job with the vaccines though.

Masks do nothing more than make anyone that wears one look like a dumbwit. Been proven pretty well by states that have/love them thanks to lies vs states that think they do zero and people have common sense. Here in Colorado masks are on everyone, in missiouri, basically same population, no idiot masks ever, yet they are like 1/10 the cases we have with the same amount of population.

This is hilarious. I just had a really deep, rewarding laugh at your expense. Thank you.
