There are still more people wanting shots than there are shots available. The Feds tell each State Sunday evening what their allotments will be for the week and appointments open up Monday mornings. If you try to book much after that the appointments will likely be taken.
Good info. Perhaps repost each Sunday...

Diane had her second Moderna today. So far she's not complaining about any side effects. She had no more than a slightly sore arm the first time around. This is the woman that usually has all the side effects with other medications.

My mother in law just got her second one today. Afterwords we took her out to dinner inside a restaurant for the first time in almost a year and a half. Very pleasant dining experience at Outback. We dined before the dinner rush.

cant even imagine not eating out in a year and a half . when the lock down was at its most severe here in central Texas good ol sonic was still operating . so to feel a little normal we would go to sonic and order hamburgers and enjoy our meals like normal for sonic.

My mother in law is at just about stage 5 alzheimer's so it was difficult to figure out what her side effects were from the Moderna shot Monday. She did not eat her toast and drink much coffee. Also did not get up and wander around as much. I asked her how she felt and she said her arm hurt and body ached. Other than that not much different.

All the restaurants here in my area have been a roller coaster. Closed one day open the next, take out only, patio closed, patio open. Biker bars like Cooks Corner and Hells Kitchen have not suffered much since the pandemic started. Dodging drunk bikers and seeing them wadded up or causing wrecks in the canyons has not changed much over the last year.

Well, with the issues about blood clots surrounding the Johnson & Johnson and the AstraZeneca vaccines, I wonder what effect this will have on vaccine uptake? For the record, my wife had 2 shots of the Pfizer vaccine and I have had my first shot of AstraZeneca 7 weeks ago so I am waiting for my second shot but no longer looking forward to it. I have told m
Mrs. LongdogCymru that if I kick the bucket then she is to sue the ass of them!

Were all the clotting incidents for the A-Z vaccine among younger, child bearing age, women as is the case for the J&J vaccine? Use of birth control pills would be limited to this demographic group and carry their own significant risk of blood clotting. So if these incidents were also using BC pills, it may not be due to the vaccines at all. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

So far that is my understanding and they've also now isolated it to women with a certain characteristic (or gene?). Neither is an mRNA which has had none.

Even so 6 individuals out of 7 million doses? A woman would be a lot more likely to die if she got the 'Rona and the people with long term issues from getting sick vastly outnumber those.

btw - Not COVID but now that mRNA has been found to be a valid and effective tool, it's being used to develop new vaccines for the regular flu, malaria, and some cancer.

im thinking the reaction to 2nd shot is the body showing an upgraded immune response , which to me says it is working .... now having said that there are some who have very little response if any to 2nd shot , does not mean the first shot isn't working , just a different response ... good a guess as I've seen on the news ....

I have the same question. Do I want more aches/pains after a second shot? More pain, more better? Or, does the aches/pains not mean anything?

Yeah, I've seen the commercial. They're careful how they word it. They say that "the virus is undetectable, and therefore can not be transmitted." They don't say it's cured, just undetectable. If you forget a dose, does it become detectable/transmittable?

I saw a press release today where they responded to the question "how long will the vaccine be effective after taken". Answer was "no way to know for sure, but we are expecting 6-7 months".
Wow, great news there. So when most people are vaccinated, which will take 6-7 months, we start all over again. More or less what I expected.
I guess we are supposed to get the vaccine and hope the virus goes away whithin 6 months, if not repeat and hope again.

Yeah, that’s a treatment not a cure and certainly not immunity.
