I treat Walmart as self service. Go in/out through Auto Service or order online and pickup without long checkout lines or wait. If I need help finding something I will search on their website and it tells you on hand availability for your store.

. . . . Only to get home and find the spray tip missing!!! . . . .
This isn't just a W-M thing. I learned long ago. . . . that if you want several of anything. . . . don't pick up a stack and expect them all to be the same. They tidy up the shelves, and just put anything anywhere. Look at each item.

you have to hunt to find an employee if you need help .....
And, then they act like it's not their job to help you.

I used to do the same. . . . but, I guess they caught on. Website will say it's there. . . . and it's not. This too, is not a W-M only thing. A auto parts store (O'Reilly's) web site claimed they had an item in stock. I get there, and their particular store has NEVER stocked the item. I was told, "if it can be ordered, it's considered in stock". (we won't even talk about them ordering the wrong part)

I cant remember the last time i was in a Wal Mart. I will pay a little more some place else to stay out of Wal Mart. My brother says if Tractor Supply sold toothpaste and deodorant he would never go into Wal Mart.

The problem with Wal Mart and other big stores, like Lowes, Home Depot, Target, etc. like that, is that even if the website says there are 10 of the items you want in stock, nobody in the store knows where they are!

I've ordered car tires from their website, sometimes all 4 tires come in, sometimes not. Getting them properly balanced and mounted is another thing.

On some items the price is that much less expensive it's hard to pay more at other stores. The WM closest to me, I end up checking out at the pharmacy counter often as when I need to pick up an Rx refill, I usually restock Tylenol, Ibuprofen, vitamins, supplements, etc. The 2 pharmacists know me and are genuinely nice people.

I've been to two Walmart stores. First one in Cancun and it was incredible. Could buy anything from a car, washing machine, alcohol, a full dressed pig, firearms, groceries, hardware. It was the best. Super nice people. Next time in Portland, Oregon. Wow, what a difference. Real low class cheap store. I was very dissapointed.

This would have been a good addition to the Random Rant thread. Take the can back, they will accept the return with or w/o a receipt, then get a new can and check it before you buy it. Lesson learned for you, any time you purchase a spray can of anything, check for the spray tip. The kids doing 'art' with spray cans figured out a long time ago that different products spray different patterns, so they steal tips to have a collection for doing their 'art'. Like a brush collection for street artists.

WalMart is the closest retailer of its kind to our house. Some things I won't get there, other things I will. Sometimes I'm just not in the mood to drive across town and go to three stores.

In regards to finding things, every store is different, you learn where they keep stuff over time. And at Home Depot, the web site gives the aisle and bin numbers if you look, letting you walk right to where it is. IIRC, Lowes does that too.

WalMart/Sams was better in Mexico too. Completely different vibe then in the US.

It will cost more in time and effort to take it back. This is the first time in my life I have had a spray tip missing from a purchase. I'm not going to get in the habit to check for missing tips. No more shopping at Walmart. Problem solved.

I had not thought of kids stealing tips for doing graffiti art. I'm fortunate that we don't have that problem where I live.
