What can I say - if you didn't make it to Romney, you are square ::025:: Had a great time - all 6 of us!

It's been said before, but Kev and Larry and the crew at Romney Cycles are the best. They supplied a large grassed area for camping, a fire pit, 2 porta johns, an RV with a shower, and fed us chicken wings and pizza when we returned from Saturday's ride. After a long day of gorgeous West Virginia roads and scenery, Kev (the owner) welcomed us back with a shot of some West Virginian moonshine. Very smooth it was too...

I was thinking they'd be disappointed with the small turnout - not at all, they were happy to have us and are already talking about putting on another weekend next year or maybe Fall this year. I really like their business philosophy - there's no hard sell and no BS, it's simply that if they do right by their customers, the business will come one way or another. Their generosity this weekend is a good example of that.

Speaking of generosity, they are offering ~20% discount on Klim gear to forum members...

The ride itself took in some very twisty and tricky paved roads (Smoke Hole and Howards Lick) to some curvacious scenic-ness, a couple of interesting dirt sections, and of course we can't leave out the nice lunch on the Front Porch at Seneca Rocks.

No dramas at all, except for the 3 losers who managed to take "Lost River" too literally, and got themselves lost... We were soon reunited though, and I was happy for the excuse to run Howards Lick a couple more times.

Oh, and how could I forget breakfast with the lovely Kasey at Shirley's Diner? Say hi for me next time you visit - I'm sure she'll remember me! ;) http://shirleysdinerromney.com/

Great weekend, great people all round - nice to put a real name to a forum name to a face!

John/Nittany, from PA

Tommy, Wee rider with plans to go Vee but I think has potential as a S10 convert. From Virginia Beach

Andy from Buckhannon WV

Jon/Dirt_Dad from Leesburg VA

Alan/twodogs from Ohio

And the bikes - a good range from almost stock to a variety of farkles from range of manufacturers. Alan, with the almost-stock S10, was madly taking pics of everything...

Great weekend. Fantastic weather, an excellent route worked out by Trevor, outstanding support by Romney Cycle, nice view at breakfast, and good people made for a great time. I ride around that area once or twice a month but Trevor still managed to show me roads I didn't know, or had forgotten about. I do enjoy discovering more options.

The support from Romney Cycle was well executed, just like all my other experiences with them. Being around them for the last few months it's become obvious that they grew so large by bending over backwards to make sure the customer is happy. It's not like any other dealership I've ever seen, and this weekend just reinforced my positive opinion of them. Big thanks to Kevin, Larry, Eric and everyone else who made us feel welcomed and took care of everything we needed.

Really enjoyed getting to meet everyone. It was a nice easy going group of guys both on the roads and around the camp fire. Sure, a few of us did take advantage of having the word "Lost" in the name of the road, but that just game me a chance to add on an additional 10 miles of dirt roads to my ride. Not something I'm ever going to complain about. And Trevor, thanks again for letting me take the dust free position on the dirt section. How did you know that's my favorite place to be?

I'll add some photos after work and eventually will video post a video.

Thanks for the good time, guys.

More importantly, he did not get a picture of Kasey. I would have happily sacrificed the picture of me for that one.

Awesome weekend! Great roads and not roads, great people and GREAT hospitality from Romney Cycles. I think there was one guy under 50 and it wasn't me. However I did see the hooligan come out in all of us at one time or another! Looking forward to the next one.

I was there in spirit guys. But I could not pass up the once a year opportunity to turkey hunt. I hope I can make the next one. ::001::

I went back there yesterday morning, with the intention of having her serve me breakfast... and get the pic. Unfortunately they were closed. So you need to go on a Saturday...

Well guess I should add my two pennies worth about the ride through WV. To sum it up...... I had FUN ::015::

First ALL the folks at Romney Cycle were great. Thank You! These folks have their act together. Good folks ....... Means a good time.

For me this was a great experience. Being the new guy (and the old guy) to the S10 in the group the other riders offered advice and instruction which I greatly appreciated. Some out there may ask if it was good advice or instruction. I would would say YES, as I completed my first major ride on an extended dirt road. Although I did have a security blanket behind me.... Thanks DCStrom....

To the riders that were there.... Thanks for making me feel welcome.

I hope that this event can become annual, and we fill the field with tents.

This looks like it was a great time and I'm sad I missed it. If Romney decides to do this again I'm sure it'll see a much better turn out, even though, to be honest, the small group would have worked for me just fine!
