Hey guy's ,
Need a good source that makes custom cables . I need 2+" for my throttle cables . Good , reliable online source would be appreciated .
First I ordered from "Motion Pro" , cables that they made don't work . Throttle is super tight and not springing back no matter how I rout them and what I do . I put the stock cables back on everything is fine , I switch to "Motion Pro's" extended ones and throttle gets super tight again . I tried calling them and emailing them , but they won't answer or call back , blaming it on covid-19 on their answering machine .
What other places are out there that you successfully used for your custom cables ?

I think TABASCO on here does them.
chuck him a PM

Rob
Trust me I did ask TABASCO , before I went with "Motion Pro" - of course I will try to support one of our very own first . Unfortunately - got one response that was pretty rude and after that got no responses to my PM's at all .

I don't think you're going to get a response from anyone with a source that has been specifically used for throttle cables. No one that I recall in the last decade has put longer throttle cables on their S10. I remember one person moving the throttle housing upside down to get a bit more slack, so the cables come out on the bottom instead of the top.

I'm curious what you did that causes you to want longer throttle cables? And what year is your bike? The Gen I bikes had long cables that were routed in such a manner that they stuck up right over the gauges. Many people loosely tied them to the side with a zip tie w/o ill effects, including myself. The Gen II bikes changed this and those didn't block gauge view.

The Gen I throttle cables are part number 23P-26302-00-00.
The Gen II throttle cables are part number 2BS-26302-00-00

I do not know if the Gen I cables are physically longer. I don't know of any reason Gen I cables would have different ends either. I can't think of any reason they would have different ends.

Hey Eric ,
I have 2017 ST . Need longer cables because I'm switching to ProTaper ADV High bars with heli risers . I'm tall , have a custom raised seat on my ST that moved my riding position to the back as well to open up some leg room . To get really comfortable for long distance touring .
Thank you for the info on the cables . Hmmm , I wonder if gen 1 throttle cables are longer ???

I have HeliBars risers on my bike and I installed Spiegler +2" on my 2015 Super Tenere and I like them.
Nice and clean. Not too expensive.
That would be brake/clutch lines, not throttle cables as the OP is looking for, correct?

You DON'T need longer throttle cables!!!

Just flip them!!!
Route the throttle cables over the bars, the Gen2 Heated grip cable is now on top and routes in front of the brake resevoir over the handguard bracket and joins the other elec cables on the bar.

RRR Tools adjustable riser, Raptor High Bar, 9cm extended brake and clutch lines - works fine!

I see what you did there , that's an option . Motion Pro replied my email and phonecall and going to help me out and build me a new set . Once I got in hold of them customer service is actually really good and folks that I talked to are really nice . One tech has 2013 ST , so he said he will put the cables on his bike and test them before sending them my way . Fingers crossed ...
