I am planning to make my own pannier that suit my needs. I want them symmetrical, who makes the narrowest (2016ES). If you have numbers like the external dim of the rack so I can put already in my cad.

I saw the givi PL-2119 review here, not sure about the SW and others.

Muffler on the LH side determines the minimum symmetrical rack dimension. From measurements on my '12, that [tight] dimension would be ~19-1/2" or 9-3/4" each side.

I'm running Holan panniers and the racks are ~18" wide, 10" on the left and ~8" on the right. With the panniers mounted, the overall width is very close to symmetrical.

This a pic of my Happy Trails setup but you might find it too wide. From outer edge to outer edge of the boxes is a little over 36".

I can highly recommend the Hepco Becker racks I am running on my S10. They are 19" wide and almost symmetrical. The left side only sticks out 0.5" further than the right which is barely noticeable with the boxes on (I am using Pelican 1550 cases).

Jesses are symetrical, but the left hand box is cut out for muffler clearance. With the cutout, that makes Jesse just about the narrowest for the displacement.
