I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide.
Ive been running this mount for about 3 years now on various bikes. I always mount it on the bars, clutch side.
Thing to watch out for. The ball it screws into unscrews WAY too easy from vibes, and I have lost 1 on the freeway. Locktite is needed on the screw into the ball.

If you see above I was asking how heberhog likes the bigger version as I would like to hold an insulated cup, not just a flimsy water bottle to keep the drink cool in the summer.

That's cool!

I've seen some guys with bottles mounted around the crash cage, but never did so myself.

Speaking of, that is a helluva setup for protection!
Thanks, T Rex bars and skid plate. I have used them several times and they hold up well.

How do you like the XL ram cup holder. I was going to upgrade from the standard one but saw some complaints about it. Ever run into any issues?
i haven't had any issues with it other than sometimes the bottle is a pain to get out of the holder. it's not in the way there and is convenient

Hi what cup holder are you using, that’s exactly what I’ve been looking for, I have the same crash bars. Tks. Jeff

Had this on my 2015 S10

Footpeg mounted kit with a drinking tube. I think it was Gary Crowley from the FJR forum who sold them.

<Edit> Just checked on the FJROwners.com forum. Garauld Techworks LLC still has these in 1/2 and 1 gallon sizes, says they will fit other bikes as well. As I recall, I had to send mine back because the attachment screw holes were just a little off for the S10. But he fixed it up right for me. He doesn't have a website, you have to PM from that forum.

<another edit> I just ordered another one from Gary for my 2017. He still has the info for adjusting the screw holes for a Super Tenere. 1/2 Gallon, several color choices, $116 shipped. He also has 1 gallon set up available for you thirsty desert nomads. He used a Coleman cooler the last time. If you've been on the FJROwners forum then you have probably heard of all the stuff Gary makes for the FJR.

CamelBak. Or generic equivalent. I spent years riding in the heat of Texas summers. I used a 2L hydration system. Small enough to not be a bother, but large enough to hold enough. Never thought about putting coffee in it, but there's no reason it wouldn't work. My issue was staying hydrated. I'd pack it with ice, fill it with water, and put some powder flavoring w/electrolytes in it. You can drink, and keep two hands on the bar. I wore the CamelBak bladder out after a couple of years. Replaced it with a Geigerrig bladder. The Geigerrig bladder is easier to fill/clean, better bite valve, and best of all. . . . guaranteed for life. I wore out the Geigerrig bladder after a couple more years, and they replaced it free of charge. I have tried the drink holder path, and it just wasn't as efficient or convenient as the CamelBak. Also, if you already have a tank bag, or back pack, just buy a bladder and put it in.
Did you get the pressurized Geigerrig? I use it for mtn biking and love it. Not only pumps water into your mouth without effort, but it's great for rinsing off your face (especially if pre-loaded with ice and water) after the ride. I ride mostly in the Austin area, so you know how good that cold water feels.

Mine was capable to be pressurized. . . . I was not. After the first time of shooting water out of my nose. . . . no more pressurization. I was happy enough with being able to partake of ice cold Propel lemon all day long. I can see where the ice cold shower could be enjoyed though. I used to put my helmet in the freezer. It feels awesome, but only for about 10 minutes. I always had to wash my liners at least once a week. Had an extra set so I always had a dry set. 'Cuz, you're right, our summers suck. Definitely not a dry heat.
