Where do you mount your Quad Lock and which bracket have you got?

I am not sure which bracket to order as I cannot physically see where best to put the bracket and phone. If you have a quad lock could you tell me where you have put yours and which bracket you use. I see they have a damper now also. The XT1200 is not on Quad Lock danger vibration list But I will buy one anyway. Probably just hard wire it into the battery with their plug! Thanks.

I have a Quadlock and went for a mirror mount which fits on the Gen2 nav bar but then went for a handle bar mount which is placed between the bar clamps. I went for a damper also, when you first attach the phone it seems to wobble a lot but in use its fine.

I've got almost the same set up as Drif10, including the wireless charger, except it's mounted further left on the bar, since my GPS is in the middle, and I added the damper mount. I don't have the little box with the USB cable plugged into it though. Instead I ran the cable from the charging head all the way back under the tank and seat where I have a USB source mounted. The USB source is connected to one of the circuits on my Neutrino distribution box.

For three years I have been using a handlebar mounted Quad Lock between the handlebar clamps (just like yoyo mentioned) with no dampener or charger and it has served me well. I recently cut one of my business cards into a circular shape and used it as a properly sized shim in the socket located on the back of the Quad Lock phone case to make it super snug as the plastic mounting tab on the handlebar mount and the mentioned phone case socket get a bit worn (thus becoming loose) as wear-n-tear occurs from frequently attaching and removing the phone through the years.

I wonder how much of that wear is due to mount/dismount and how much is due to shock and vibration when the phone is in place on the mount? Wondering if the damper mount would have helped prevent that wear?

Word is, if you have an iPhone, the damper is a must. Their camera does not like the vibes.
I have heard this as well.
Mine is an older iPhone 7 which I believe is a bit more robust than the newer iPhones.
I use the camera all the time and I have noticed no issues with the quality of the captured images or any recorded video.

Great minds think alike....
I originally thought the same thing about what you mention regarding mounting/dismounting the phone and
the constant vibration of riding on the slab. However, even when I first bought the Quad Lock set back in '18 I felt
that there was a bit too much play once the case was attached to the mount. I quickly started to use some
electrical tape on the mount tab to tighten things up a bit but as expected the tape got gooey and trashed
quite quickly. When I upgrade to a new iPhone looks like I will go the dampener/charger route.

Thanks folks, agree the left bar is best after trying a few positionsI am no electrician so will just hook it to the battery, quad lock have an in-line fuse but I would prefer a switch and not have it live all the time. Perhaps there is no harm in that.
