It was perfect here today too. Made a big loop of the valley. Didn’t want to stop.

Skipped the Tenere and took my new toy for some dual sport riding but eventually the old Kenda on the back was no match for the snow at Cooper’s Gap near Suches. Love the 300lbs bike. No pucker moment when the tail goes full sideways. Didn’t drop it once but got filthy regardless.

Dirt road cruising...
Rode from the Boulders area east of Florence down to Oro, next to Mt Lemmon. Rt 77 up to Dudleyville. Dirt road cross country back west to Rt 79. About 70 miles of dirt.

Most of the dirt was well groomed. Love 6th gear cruising these roads. Lots of banked curves, hills and dips. Very little traffic.

Looks like some ongoing fires in the Galiuro Wilderness.

How fast were you going on the dirt? I don't go into sixth till close to 70.

Some straight aways were about that. I will shift to 6th around 55. I find traction more predictable with lower rpms. Biggest threat on these roads is a cow, therefore slow down for blind hills and curves.

BTW it was Oracle not Oro...

Temperature warmed up to 37 degrees and I had to get a tire mounted for my wife’s car. Rode the Tenere to Costco (70 miles) they mounted a new tire that they had to order in. Took the scenic route through old Pocatello and the backroads home. 280 miles total today. So nice to be out on the bike. Wanted to see if Mt Ord trail was open (it was not due to the wild fires). Went on up 87 to 188 and back down to the east side of 4 Peaks. Up to the top where it is closed going back down. The fires did come across, just not as hot. Plenty of damage but not as devistated as the west side. I did find a new spur at the top, Pigeon Spring Road. I rode about half of it, but will wait for the snow to melt before checking out the rest of it.

I just saw a post over on the "East of Phoenix Riders" thread on ADV-Rider.
Apparently the road is open now from 87 to the top of Four peaks. (opened this past weekend)

Hereby verified. Quite a bit of traffic for a week day. Pent up demand I guess. Rode up and back down the west side. Trail is in good shape. Vegetation is already starting to come back. Coming back down I got behind two packs of side by sides. Both groups ended up getting a flat tire. I guess they need to find some Mitas Dakars!

This is a cool video I found thought y’all might like it

Great video! Looks like a lot of fun but only on a small bike! I don't see how any one could take a big bike through all that and not bust the engine case. I have just about busted mine 3 or 4 times. Should have really! I have lifted the bike completely off the tires and had it thrown sideways from rocks rolling up under it and i was not on anything like that. It is so cool to watch people with such enthusiasm!
