Rode with my wife out to where God planted boulders in the middle of the desert. Pretty interesting.

When I lived there, I always wondered about those every time i drove by them.
I always thought it looked like a gigantic Moraine from an ancient ice-age Glacier

Where is that? Seems like I vaguely remember stumbling across that in Arizona (southern part of the state, I think) somewhere when out visiting the wife's sister and brother-in-law several years ago. Was one of those places I wanted to stop and explore, but didn't have the time then. Reminded me of some of the balancing boulders we found out SW of Lees Ferry at the base of the Vermilion Cliffs.

It is half way between Florence and Kelvin, AZ. Nice paved road east from Florence (from HW 79), and a fun dirt road on to Kelvin (by HW 177). You can see the boulder field on Google Earth.

Mid state Tennessee area.

Rocks end just ahead, and the road turns into a potholed dirt road that climbs the hill. Nothing that hard, just tests the suspension some. On the top of the hill there was a gathering of side by sides running up and down the hill.

Later in the ride, I had to put the binders on pretty heavy due to a person stepping out in front of me, and blew the left front fork seal. Lots of oil on my boot. Guess it was time for fork service anyway.

Apache Trail from the east to the trail closure at Apache Lake. Nice bunches of wildflowers.

Back out and north to take the Four Peaks trail east to west. Lots of Jeep and UTV traffic, and decent stream crossings due to recent rain. If you look close you can see the trail down.

Two of the Four Peaks.

Bonus on the ride home, the Salt River wild horses were out and about. (At a distance)
