Last ride with GV550 before he heads north. Superior, Globe, old route 188, Aztec Mtn (as far as we could) Young, Payson, and back to AJ/Gold Canyon AZ. Ate our lunch by the brook, pondering whether it was "No guts, no glory" or "Discretion is the better part of valor"... We decided to let the snow melt without our tracks in it...

Great ride anyway.

Glorious day in the Smokies. I took the recently opened extension of the Foothills Parkway that adds 11 spectacular miles to the existing scenic route. Followed by a quick back and forth on the Dragon, then heading to March Moto Madness just in time to watch the insane Hillclimb competition. Impressive what some folks did to their 1200GS and the likes.
Then I explored some dirt to finally see the “Alien Launchpad” and the “Aztek Ruins” with my own eyes.
And finally I took the Cherohala Skyway back to Deals Gap to see some minibike racing.

Quick evening ride, did about 1/3 of the Montana Mountain trail loop then headed back before sunset. The last picture has Weaver's Needle in the distance. Going to miss AZ in another week. Trails and scenery like this is much harder to find in the midwest.

Eastern approach to Montana Mountain, and the rougher 1/2 of Bombay Mine road, AZ. The combination of a loose rocky section and a good sized bull got the heart rate up. Should have taken a picture, but I had other things on my mind...
