Took a trip the the New Jersey Pine barrens AKA Wharton State Forest. Had a chance to pretend I was in the Dakar Rally, but couldn't hop off and get pictures of the good trails. Respect for anyone who rides in deep sand.

4 states (NC, SC, GA, and TN), 277 miles, including "The Dragon" in both directions. Not a bad day.
Sounds like fun. I was in that area last weekend. Skipped all the common roads, but did The Georgia Dragon, or whatever they call it, 68/60 going south of Tellico Plains. My lord, what a road.

Did a 150 mile loop out of Tupelo, MS, finishing up with about 34 miles on the Natchez Trace. Great day for a ride with temps in the mid-80s and humidity only in the mid 50% range. The trace was nearly deserted and the wife and I had no idiots to deal with the whole ride.
Pics from one of the several stops at historic sites.

Took it out for a 225-mile Maiden Voyage loop with a well-known PNW guy, who just happens to be in Colorado for a spell.
Our route included Deer Creek Canyon, Foxton Rd, Deckers to Woodland Park, and a stop in CO Springs for some BBQ at Rudy's.

Went for a ride to Courthouse Hill Monument today, then over to Atlantic Motorsports Park. Caught up with a few friends doing the Mack And Jack Endurance race. Great day for a race. Some parts of me still wishing I was still racing, others not missing it at all.

I just got back from the TAT from Cherokee NC to the MABDR. Tgen all 9 sections of the MABDR including both expert sections. The 900 miles home in one shot. Love this bike. 1500 miles of back roads and dirt roads and 900 highway in 6 days. The bike and I are a little rough afterwards but still in one piece.

WOW that's a lot of miles pr. day..
Did you have time to enjoy the trip:eek:;)
When I plan a trip, I normaly don't plan on more than half of that pr. day (average of course, and on european back country roads)

We did about 210 per day on the actual BDR route... that's about right for me on these types of roads. The trip back was one long 850 mile shot. With my knee hurting from dumping the S10 on Expert 8 section, I just wanted to get home.

Mexico...actually crossed the border a couple days ago.
The picture is at The Zone of Silence entrance...
In 1970 the US launched a test missile from the Green River Utah area, it was supposed to land in White Sands, New Mexico. But if flew another 450 miles and landed in this area. When the US got permiso from the Mexican gov to investigate and clean up the site they discovered a lot of weird things in the area; radios signals suffered interference, compass readings going screwy...etc. Plus the occasional alien sighting..

A sculpture of some sort.

And a cattle guard that nearly made me have a bad day.

I'm still in the southbound mode.
