You have to love winter in Palm Springs, CA. Had fun wearing off some chicken strips this afternoon. CA SR74 south out of Palm Desert (otherwise known as Palms to Pines Hwy.) is literally in my back yard. I am loving my new to me 2017 T-12.

I'm a few days late but this was last Saturday. Cold but nice and sunny. Previous rain washed all the salt off the roads. You all put up some nice jealously pictures.

Only took this because the sun hit the oil sight glass perfectly. Haha.

These were taken at the Assumpink Wildlife Management Area in Central NJ. Nice quiet place to hike, boat, fish, shoot and take in Mother

First ride of the year. 40 degs in town. Practiced slow speed figure 8's, lock to lock, some slalom work then off to Evergreen (35 degs) where the ice fishers were all over the lake. There were lot of ice skaters too. Sorry, no pictures, just riding. There were still some sketchy spots in the dark no sunlight corners in the canyon from Morrison.

Yep, that is what I do. I also go side space to side space. That way I can go from one end of the parking lot to the other, moving over 1 space at a time. Basically the same concept. It sure helps in tight off road and other dicy conditions. Every 2 lines (1 parking space) make the slalom, and the long line makes the slow speed straight target. I do a set or 2 sitting then the same routine standing. It makes for a nice workout.

I normally doing them longwise also, but I couldn't find a picture that looked right. I knew you would understand what I meant with this one. The T-12 is the easiest bike I've ever ridden to do this exercise. The KZ1000P is a close second though.

The S10 is the first bike that I have really worked at and practiced those drills on. Before I sold my KLR 7 years ago, we were off doing rough and tough technical riding every weekend, which kept me in good shape and form. My riding skills have not been used much this past year due to the restrictions and such low overall mileage ridden. Thusly more close to home practice drills. It seems like any weekend I can ride this winter, I start off with those drills first.

Ah, stop...please...I'm so so envious.
I think I was born in the wrong country.
Although, I'm most grateful to have had two rides in December, the 11th and the 23rd!!! rare for the deprived up here in Canada.
I check the weather frequently, hoping for a warm day (5 C or what y'all call it 40 F?) Then I'll take Thumper out for a burn. My Zuki DR650. As mentioned earlier, I traded my beloved Super Tenere for a new Africa Twin DCT....my arthritis is killing me due to clutching on a lengthy day of riding. Looking forward to March and hopefully an early spring riding season.
