Where are my side case locks

That sucks. I heard from the dealer again today.
They passed my key code to "Yamaha", and replacement locks are in the mail. No idea when they will get them or if they will be keyed to match my ignition. The parts manager assured me that if they don't come keyed, he will pay the cost to have the tumblers replaced.
His quote, and one that reassured me, is that they are there for me for as long as I have the bike. More later.

I'm curious on the outcome. Either you will be lucky or the Tumblers get replaced.

The Tumbler replace on the bag set is the only way to go based on my past experience. Yamaha ships the Bag Lock Cylinders by a "3 pack w/ 2 keys" or "Single w/ 2 keys". Whatever gets pulled from the shelf will be the key code you get.

I got both a Set of 3 and a Single lock. I was able to Swap and File the tumblers to force it to match the other locks on the bike. I now have 3 spare lock cyl's with keys that match nothing. The Loctite is doing its job, no more lost locks. ::013::

Nften, sounds like you are literally stuck between a rock and a large body of water in regards to dealer choices where you live. Someone between unpacking the crate and yourself took the lock set. Sure maybe Yamaha forgot them, but I doubt it. All the misc small parts for assy come in a bag, as do the lock set but under the seat as noted. Hope your dealer takes care of you as many don't or say they can't.

I'm hoping as well, going to wait for Yamaha Canada's reply before going back to my dealer. Worst case they don't cover it and I have to bring back my top case and order a 3rd party from a on line dealer like a GIVI or something.

What price did they quote you for the locks?
Ultimately the dealer is responsible for delivering the bike with the 3 keys, owners manual, tool kit and lock tumblers. If something is missing they are the ones who should make it right. They sold you the bike, not Yamaha Canada. They have a check list that Yamaha provides. As a franchisee, they should have caught this during the PDI. It's not a lot of $ for the dealer to eat to earn some good will for their mistake.

You have none. While there are hundreds of unused ones all over the globe.

Mine was the first on the island, they got it ready asap because I was waiting for it for so long. The 2nd one was sent to the west coast and the other forum member as told me the dealer did not know what the locks were for and was thinking about trashing them but then decided to put them his manual bag.
If Yamaha and my dealer don't come up with anything it would be nice to get a set of locks even if its for a different key, I would not expect anyone to sent me an original key but a shorter copy that works with the locks. If you of someone as a set they don't need or don't see any use for, now or in the future. I maybe interested in them. Once I find out if Yamaha (unlikely) or my dealer is going to take care of this for me?? I'll PM you and message this thread, looking for a set of locks, if they will not help.

Your right about that. The price for the locks, I'm not sure but for 1 lock $47.00 Canadian? I could be mistaken. I must ask them if it was checked on the PDI.

There are only 2 Teneres in St. Johns and 1 I know of on the west coast of Newfoundland. Small population for sure. I'll drop you a PM if I can't get it taken care of in a few more days. thanks
