Well the Canadian border closure has been extended another month until at least July 21.

More totally fake news from the media. The border is open for US citizens with passport and proper ID and documentation (such as proof of vaccination).

I just took the the questioner and " Based on your answers, you will likely be allowed to enter Canada". This is as of today.

But, will you be allowed to leave? Boo-wah-ha-ha. :D
I'm not sure I would want to. One of my dream places to visit is Vancouver Island. It's quite doable on the Super Tenere. 2 day ride or easy 3 day ride from home.

Not fake news.
There are numerous exemptions to the border closures, travel for leisure is not one of them. Even passing through Canada to Alaska is limited to those who own a home or have proof of employment in Alaska.

You are the one spreading disinformation. A motorcycle excursion would be leisure, not essential. And sadly it still is disallowed. Though you did earlier advocate for going around customs, so I'm not sure what your angle is.

We did a WeSTOC rally there a few years ago. Beautiful place and a fun ferry crossing but not a lot of roads to ride there.

Funny anecdote

My recent job required some travel to the US as it is a Canadian company that offers "essential" services to US companies. As the travel is essential, we were supposed to be exempt from the hotel quarantine and other travel limitations outside of the negative Covid test prior to travel.

That was the case most of the time, and then a colleague got forced into the hotel stay and home quarantine coming back into Canada cause the border guard didn't believe the travel was essential. The two other colleagues on the same trip and flight didn't have any issues with other border guards.

Have no idea why my post was deleted other than someone not liking me posting the names of phony news outlets. So much for mentioning the facts on border restrictions.

I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide.
Border crossing into Canada for leisure is not a acceptable reason at this time.

Hell I work on Canadian Defence Contracts and we can't get vaccinated people in to do tech rep jobs inside Canada. They are having to send all their crews and equipment to the USA (joint projects anyway so no biggie) for us to work with them. The crews they are sending have to quarantine for 14 days on return even if they are vaccinated (and they are all getting vaccinated here because it's hard to do it there). It's a shit show.

It may not be. However it is being done every single day with zero drama. Unfortunately we are not allowed to post how to do it here because of it angering other members and moderators.

Defense contracts require a whole bunch of hoops to go through in order to cross into and out of other countries. It is a whole different set of rules than the average citizen. Even before COVID military contracts performed by non military personnel were a nightmare. I have been on both sides of it and I can only imagine the difficulty of the logistics during COVID guidelines.
