She doesn't really have a name, more of a title. It's more of a tongue in cheek protest against those that complain about the weight: the behemoth. 'Cuz I don't think she's heavy at all.

I only named the bikes that A. I cursed at. or B. Needed encouragement to get me to the destination. None of my Yamahas ever fit those descriptions.

My previous bike, a red ST1300 was called the Red Devil, referring to it's colour and temperament, but also to the Belgian Soccerteam's nickname.

My XT 1200 sneaked it's name into my brain while I was driving it for the first time. The connection? Well, it's gray, I change postions while driving under different circumstances and after a vibrating ride it gives me that happy ending, also..... Go read the book for more details.
But more important: you'll never drive that gray Tenere with the same feeling again. :cool:
