Whats going on with my headlights??

So I had the headlight harness recall done a while back and ever since, my headlights have been different... there is this strange kind of crescent shape at the bottom of the beam, and it is much brighter on the right than on the left. Before the recall it was a nice even beam all the way across.

Also, I cant notice it when trying to look at the headlights straight on, but when looking at the reflection of the lights in the car in front of me, it looks like the right headlight is dull/off.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Looks to me like the bulb isn't seated in the headlight housing clips correctly. I'd pop the LH headlight cover off and see if reseating it fixes it...

Same thing happened to me. Loosened the clip, the bulb slipped back in the socket.
That's right. The last time we rode together one of your lights looked very dim. Glad it was something simple.

Mine is that way, I just thought that one was set slightly higher then the other one.

Did that once. but seemed that I could only put them back the way I took them out. So i figured they were in correctly. I did it quickly though so I will take a look at it again and see if I can figure it out. Anyone have any pictures of how they are supposed to be mounted in there?

Mine had a small gap between the bulb and socket. After you release the clip, turn while lightly pushing until it falls in place.

As has been mentioned, it's probably just the lamp not seated correctly. Only one way for it to be in properly... No pic required. Also, take a good look to be certain the interior of the dome assembly doesn't have a film or residue on it from the smoking that may have occurred from the defective harness. I've seen that in more than one case.

The tab on the bulb is at an angle when seated correctly although it looks like the y should be at half past position, I had the same issue.
::008:: I was going to say the tab isn't straight up or down like you'd expect. Something like seven o'clock if I remember right.

Oh, and yes, that's an unseated bulb.

Let me say that I have some troubleshooting to seat correctly the bulb. IMO there's not a well defined seat position. Or am I wrong? Thanx for attention

Like you I find the headlight bulb install to be odd. I have replaced two sets of bulbs with one set this week.

- The spring releases by pressing in and raising up, then rotate to the left side of the Tenere.

- The metal tab of the light bulb should be at 7ish o'clock and slips into a corresponding notch. Make sure the tab is properly inserted in the notch.

- Install the spring in reverse.

- You should be finished.

* Shine the headlights on your garage door or a wall. The line at the bottom of the lights should be even. If not... the tab(s) are not fully inserted in the notch.

Thanks tomatocity. I've done the same, but the upper side seems not perfectly seated. I would expect a notch on the upper side too.

Nope... 7ish o'clock is where the tab sets. The spring should press the bulb flange to the plastic. Check to see is there is something that should not be there. Use the other headlight as a comparison. I have difficulty seeing in low light areas and use additional light in those areas. Last time I had to set the left headlight twice... the tab was not flush both times. The second time I used an awl to press the tab flush.
