Now you mention it, yes! The side-fueltanks make sense now.Middle pic is a KTM. It says so on the engine case, above the brake pedal. Now, I sure as heck don't know which KTM.
It is my opinion that someone that really wants something they will figure it out and take it.Another, anti-theft system:
I was trying to think of some “safer” anti-theft system than the starter immobilizer, and the handlebar lock. These only have a "placebo" effect, we believe that they will not be able to steal it because they have these systems, but the reality and the different forms of theft (loading them in a van, or taking them away for a couple of meters and then loading them ), show that we need something more secure. Chaining them to a tree or post "maybe" is safer, but the chain / padlock has to be of generous proportions, apart from having to carry them everywhere ... what I had been thinking about was "lock the central stand” "I don't know, maybe weld a perforated plate to it, to place a padlock (somewhere inaccessible for a pliers) and to serve as lock for the center stand, I think that locking the center stand would be a good, economical option. , light, and fast to put on and take off, it would complicate the attempted robbery a lot, we would have to think about "lifting it and carrying it", at least 4/5 people would be needed ... ... if there is any suggestion / correction, it will be welcome
I totally agree. And, yes, if they don't know you have something . . . . they won't even try to steal it. But I read a report years ago that said thieves will go for the "low hanging fruit" first. Bar locks apparently are easy to defeat. A chain, wheel lock, etc., is usually enough to cause the thief to move on to the unprotected/unsecure "low hanging fruit". I do like the idea of locking the center stand in the "lifted" position. It is my opinion that someone that really wants something they will figure it out and take it. . . .
Me too.Seems like I’ve seen this center stand lock idea before. Can’t recall when or where though.
Every time I see this I get upset because it took me a long time to be able to get enought $ go buy it! so I try to prevent as much as I can to be stolen.Me too.
Around here the thieves just tip the bike into a stolen pickup or van and they're gone.
Note the battery die grinder to cut the chain in this one.
