Of course the standards have to be different, but not enacted yet! or they do?
Not sure what you’re saying or asking exactly but there are certainly existing, enacted emissions standards for motorcycles, both 49 state and California. Some manufacturers build all their bikes to the CA standard whilst others build separate CA and a 49 compliant bikes. At least in CA, they don’t bother with emissions testing for motorcycles.

First battery change. My ST is from May 2020, so one year and a half old, and 34.000 km. The old battery was a Yuasa YTZ12S, and the new one is JMT TZ12S. 50 euros. Due to the battery change I have lost several data like the clock adjustment and fuel average. It seems that the bike consume less fuel now, from 4.9 to 4.6 (liters per 100 km). In fact, the bike goes better as it gets older :) I am more than happy with her.

The more you ride her, the better she feels. Yup, the more you ride . . . . the more you realize how good the bike is.

Mine has always been very consistent on highways, generally 4.2/100km, off on gravel treks it will drop around 4.9 and rarely but have seen 6litres.
I have seen 3.7/100km on open surface running 90-100km/hr, anything above the 100 and it drops into the 4litres.
Personally i cannot ride the bike out of fuel without stopping, so i'm happy with millage and range of the T.

For her size, and weight, she get great mileage. Then throw in how I ride her, and she get amazing mileage. 45.3mpg indicated, and 43.75mpg calculated.

so the brand will have to demostrate the compliance of motorcyle standards and that is it! Thanks.

Having just bought the Super Ténéré last week, I finally got around to:

1) Repositioning the shift lever
2) Repositioning the Rox/handlebars
3) Mounting the RAM
3) Playing with windscreen positions with and without the lip
4) Taking the first gravel road
5) Taking the first dirt road
6) Oh, and sold the FJR (that hurt) to make more room for the S10.
