After coming close to running out of gas in the Texas panhandle on the way to Custer I decided I needed extra fuel . Found this 2.5 liter container and carrier on the Givi accessories page . Contemplating added one to the other side .

Do you happen to have any further info or good to knows on that left hand control swap that sounds super interesting to do.
For the Gen 1 models her sin the US that did not include flash-to-pass and the hazard switch, there was an easy swap from a Kawasaki Versys that used the exact same housing. This was the route I took on my 2012. I went back to find the thread, and realized I did a decent write up here: https://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?threads/aftermarket-lights-and-stock-looking-switches.8258/

Hi to all!
Last weekend a friend gave me an old set of panniers from an old BMW he had, the panniers were yellow and one of them the lock was broken, of course the mounting rack was not available so I did some homework since saturday and I got them installed and working , I will show you how they end up in my S10. All coments are welcome.

They fitted very well, and I spent about 20 working hours and very little money, they end up usable again.
I like the way it looks.

Regards to all.

I do not know which branch to throw! The other day, in the Tver region, which is 500 km from Moscow, another motorcycle travel took place. Sincere gatherings around the fire, conversations and just relaxation. Well, the realities of Russia, bad roads, that the KTM 790 could not stand it))

First I washed it, kinda.
Wanted to try out my new Foam-Cannon.

This thing really makes a lot of foam!

A quick rinse, and a ride around the neighborhood to dry it off.

Next it was on to Tires!

IMG_0633.JPG

I used to use Ru-glyde from Napa, but I decided to try "Mounting Paste" this time.
I had an easier time with the stiff tires.

After that I moved on to Oil/Filter and final-drive fluid change.

IMG_0638.JPG

Everything was going well until I went to remove the fill-plug on the final-drive housing.
The allen-key just rounded out the hole.
I tried the usual stuff like pounding in a torx-bit, and a larger size allen-key, but no-go with that.

I ended up drilling the head off, and using a chisel to break the remaining pieces off and spin it out.

Did not damage the sealing surface.

Luckily I had a few different size 14mm drain plugs in my spares trays.

All back together.
Now it uses a 17mm socket for both plugs.

I have always wondered why Yamaha chose to complicate things a little more by using that goofy Allen key plug, it has never caused me any real trouble but after seeing how you changed yours to a standard bolt head plug I just might do the same thing.

I think they used the allen key style because a bolt such as the hex used if hits something will cause damage to the final drive and/or threads, plug, etc.
