I got new tires front and back. I never got the tires I ordered because the retailer screwed up! They promised me the tires by Wednesday or Thursday of this week but they never arrived. They blamed it on the warehouse which was shipping them to me from 300 miles away from me. I'm not sure what the true story was but i made them refund my money. Lesson learned on who to do business with. By the way those tires were Dunlop Trailmax Mission tires.

I ended up installing Shinko 705's because they're one of the few choices I could find locally at the last minute before leaving on a trip. I've seen mixed reviews on them but Tabasco assured me they would be fine for my trip. I will try to report my opinion of them when I return.

Did you remove the OEM decals on the tank before installing the Tank Pads? Have same bike and same pads (enroute).
Applied over the decals. On my tank the OEM decals are clear coated over from the factory so you'd probably damage the finish trying to remove them. They pretty much match up.

Recieved my Yamaha winglets and crash bars. The winglets work well to reduce some of the buffeting I was trying to manage.

They did not have the stainless steel versions available so I had to settle for the black. I felt the crash bars got 'lost' in the black side panels and there was a post from a few years ago that had picture of the Sandstone Tenere with silver or aluminum bars. I really liked that look. So, I painted them.

Think they came out good. They're easy enough to take on and off if I want to 'tone down' the silver. I tried matching color of the handlebar. Came kind of close.

Enjoy the ride everyone.

I applied the Techspec Tank Pads today. Thank you all who provide guidance on whether or not I need them, which brands and best way to apply them.

I did see a video that said to make sure both the tank and pads are at least 70 degrees in temp. So parked the bike out in the FL sun with the pads on the seat for 30 min. Problem solved. Now wait 24 hours before use.

I love this forum!!!

New rear pads and rotor. @32k miles the rear rotor was grooved, uneven, and at minimum spec in some places.

Also the third set of pads, inspected and greased the pins and piston, but all seemed smooth.

Guess too many rough offroad miles and long trips with luggage.

Did a complete flush and bleed of the brake & clutch systems. Guilty to admit this is the first time I cycled the ABS system too. Man that system is pretty noisy! I guess you don’t hear that when it engages whilst underway. Brakes and clutch feel nice and firm now.

Oil, filter, rear oil change. Spooned on a new E07+ rear. I'm pretty slow, but must still be learning. Easiest tire change since I got it. No foul words at all.

Hello Rob

Sorry butting in here. Mines a 2013 with 31k miles, which I’ve owned for 4 years. I change my fluid every other winter, including cycling the ABS pump, regardless of what miles I’ve done during those two winters. It’s a straightforward job that fills up just a very small part of our long winter.
