I don't think I could ever do that! I never hose wash my bikes anyway, (maybe the lower half) just wipe them down.
We get our bikes very dirty here!
TFR first then a pressure wash down then this snow foam. Then a protective coating of some sort.

Rode over to the next town to eat at a little greasy spoon cafe.

Then back to town to do a thing I had to do.

Then a random ride that took me...

Through a construction site and out the back down down a field road to a dirt road.

The dirt road lead to some twisties, which lead me to another new road construction that I had to explore. Which brought me out close to a lake that needed me to drive a loop around it.

After that, more curvy dirt road and twisties that took me back to the interstate where I merged in with some 18 wheelers and headed back home.

I know I don't have to tell you guys this, but this bike is pretty fun.

I took mine on an Eggsanity 1000 Silver ride. 1056 miles in around 20 hrs. Started and finished at Waffle House on Kennesaw Georgia, then went to Mascoutah, IL, to a Huddle House and Chatsworth GA to a Royal Waffle King. I also rode in 3 states I had not been to on the Tenere: IL, IN and KY. Can't believe I had not been to Kentucky on the Tenere until now.

I put my ACD Skid plate on and had to cut a nice chunk out of it where the ACD logo is to fit the Arrow headers similar to what greg had to do. Although I had to use a rotary tool where a jigsaw would have been cleaner. Better than not having it and I'm happy it doesn't touch the engine. I don't single track it or beat it enough that I'm going to have to constant straighten out the plate, but I intend to ride some of the more dualsport trails this year at Romney.

Also ordered some rokstrap and new exhaust springs with rubber silencers for the arrow header. The arrow springs don't have rubber on them and they rasp on decel. The plate amplifies that noise.

I have completed my Super ACD plate and have decided to NOT put in any vent holes or drain holes. I plan on wrapping the pipes with header wrap, which I have used before in other applications to reduce radiant heat as much as 50%. If I had two of these I bet $$ I could use them as truck ramps to change my oil. I cant wait to hear the replies on this one.......

No oil filter clearance issues? Second picture shows a lot more length... How much does it weigh? Looks heavy.

In the process of installing Orange TPMS on my bike. This has been the one thing that a GS comes with that I was missing on the Tenere.
And before someone starts ranting that TPMS is BS and pre-ride tire checks are the ticket, I can share that a good friend of mine had a rear tire on his Wing disintegrate 40 Miles after the morning check due to a puncture he must have picked up shortly into the ride. Lucky him, it happened to him on the Foothills Parkway at leisurely speed, but the thought of it happening on a full Interstate doing 85 has always freaked me out. No more.

Totally agree with the point about being able to detect a puncture that's occurred in route. Happened to me on my ST1300 which had a SmarTire TPMS system installed. The warning went off at 75 MPH in the carpool lane of the 405 Freeway in heavy but fast moving traffic. The warning allowed me time to navigate across 6 lanes of traffic to reach an off ramp and to find a service station with an air hose, all before I could actually feel the tire going flat. I carry a plug kit and compact compressor but who wants to do that on the shoulder of the freeway??

I've got the Orange Electronics system on my Tenere as well for slightly over two years now. Works great but so far (knock wood) no flats. Just a couple of weeks ago I started getting a low sensor voltage alert from the front wheel sensor. I've just been punching the set button and it goes back to monitoring pressure. I got the kit from RRRToolsolutions.com and Gordon actually sent me replacement sensors for free already. Great company to deal with. I'll install them when I fit new tires later this summer.

One thing I liked about the SmarTire system is that the sensors had accelerometers in them and wouldn't turn on until the wheels were turning. They would usually connect within a block of home or less. This meant the sensor batteries would last a lot longer. Mine were 7 years old and still going when I sold the ST13. Too bad they decided to quit making them. The disadvantage is that you have to check your pressures the old fashioned way before departure. The Orange sensors are always on, so connect almost immediately upon switching on the ignition.

installed Tom [Propsoto] Propson's "Gen2 Windscreen brackets to stop vibrations"
http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=22728.0

first rate item, fit and finished, all the correct hardware included, about 15 minutes install time,
does exactly what it says, stops vibrations...

Tom was very helpful through all my dumb questions and email exchanges

less than a week from payment thru shipping and install...
I am very impressed and happy with this solution.....

No oil filter issues. Yes its longer to fit around the oil filter. It weighs a lot, but that's the trade off I'm willing to take for ultimate protection. The heat tape from TermoTec removed about 70% of the radiant heat from the head pipes. I had it running until the fan came on and while it was running I can touch the pipe with my bare hands. You need about 75 feet of their 1 inch wide lava wrap in order to cover it all. Here are some pictures for an update....

Last week I got some blue plastics from Bart on here... Thank you for a smoking deal sir!

I also ordered yoshi slip on, Arrow headers, ECU Reflash, KnN filter, Wider taller smoke windsheild, some side wind protection, Solobox for the top and some fresh silkolene synth oil, hi-filtro filter and spark plugs.

So now that all the parts arrived, I broke my wrist and arm, both brakes on right arm so the parts are going to sit in my garage for 11 more weeks... )-;

Damn! what happened? As I was reading your update, I was thinking you would have basically a brand new bike, but your story had a sad ending! :'(
Heal up quick!
