Best $15 farkle yet. Throttle go or something like that. Works better than I expected and keeps the speed pretty consistent. Not factory cruise but I'm happy with it.
Yep, 'Go Cruise' is what I use too. Cheap and easy. Automatic off with a roll-off of the throttle.
I use a 'Vista Cruise' on Honda's though. Has to be turned on and off. Easy with a thumb bump.

Oil and filter change. Kinda crappy weather today. I'll do a foliage ride next weekend, figured I'd get this out of the way.

After "buggering up" one of my oil drain threads (and after unsuccessfully trying to repair it with a TIME SERT kit) I decided to replace the entire oil pan. Was able to drop the oil pan - swap the necessary parts from the old one and complete the job in about 1.5 hours with help of my lovely WIFE!!!

"No Runs...No Leaks...No Errors".

The Time Sert Kit work great, but I was getting a small drip (1 or 2 every hour) from the back oil drain nut. I just can't stand even a drop of ANYTHING dripping from my bike...I've witnessed far too many H/Ds "puddling" from the mid to late 70's (When AMF nearly destroyed the company name), and promised myself to never own a bike that dripped.

Installed my Bumot panniers and tool box today -- couldn't be happier with them!

I went back and forth on color between black and grey -- I think the black ended up being the right choice with the Cobalt Blue, really happy with it. These are the smaller size (40/36L, 9.1" wide) but there's a TON of space compared to any panniers I've had previously. Racks fit really close to the bike, they look to be more narrow than the main fairing (less aero drag hopefully) and definitely narrower than the bars.

The only bummer is that the panniers foul on my big old Givi E45 top case. It all mounts up ok, but to open the panniers I have to remove the top case. Oops... good excuse to buy the Bumot top case I guess. Anyone want to buy a brand new Givi top case mount and top box, ha?!?

Big thank you to Jason at ADV Motorrad for being super helpful and distributing these great bags. Now to load them up and put some miles on them!

I did the same thing. One drawback to the Bumot topcase is. You have to empty it to take the case off and you have to buy their rack to put it on. Now I've got a good altrider rack laying in the back with my givi cases. The altrider rack is alot bigger and handier to strap stuff to. Don't mean to run Bumots down at all. They are very well built. I've dropped my bike a few times in the dirt with zero damage. The carrying straps they have for them are good too.

Using my recently modified Abba Skylift to check over the suspension linkage/swing arm bearings
How was the factory grease job? Many times, the factory does a horrible job of greasing important components. I know my drive shaft splines, wheel axles, brake/clutch pivots and shifter drums were all under greased from the factory. What did you find with the suspension and swing arm?

Factory grease job sucks on the suspension linkage itself, but the main swing arm pivot was still ok. My bike has just under 20k on the OD and it gets ridden off-road and in the dirt a lot. Typical Yamaha fashion, they fill the needle bearings with this yellow silicone material to retain the rollers during assembly, and it only allows for minimal grease. It looks like I caught it right at the right time, as the seals were all dry. You are right on about the driveshaft needing grease as well so it wont rust.

Finished the first stage in getting my homemade top rack made. Mounted it up and happy with the result so far. I will further lighten it up over the winter with more mounting holes and counter sink the mounting bolts to make a nicer smooth surface. Probably put some grip tape on top as well.

Very nice! I might suggest counter boring instead of countersinking, depending on anticipated stresses? One of the aftermarket rack suppliers (forget which one) has had an issue with countersunk holes developing cracks around the holes due to the annular stress created when the bolts are tightened up.

Today I installed OEM Side Wind Deflectors a.k.a. Winglets.

I really like them! Way less wind on the torso and hips. I accelerated from 60 to 80mph and it felt much smoother than it does without the winglets. I'm very happy with this $90 purchase.

Also, kudos to Full Throttle for the speedy sale, great communication and the handwritten note inside the package. Nice touch!
