Re: Hit a Big Ladder this morning !!

Waz commutin in the dark to work in Sac on WB Hwy 50 at the top of EDH grade and struck a large aluminum ladder at 75 +. The bike left the ground shortly but never missed a beat .. I gassed off on my way down the hill without even slowing down.. Cars were all around so if I had gone down it would have been ugly for all to clean up. These Freakin Super Teneres are unflappable !! I on the other hand, requiered a good single malt upon arriving home tonight ;)

Quick!
Buy a lottery ticket!

I and a few others have stayed up after hitting deer.
But you are the first I've heard to hit a ladder on the road and stay up!
They scare the bejabbers out of me.
Congratulations!

Took a 250 ride on Monday through the Blue mountains on mostly gravel roads. I went with a WR250R and a 450 KTM. This bike continues to surprise me. ::022::

Spent the day with Nick at Stoltec. He installed the Penske shock, new fork springs and valves. Then Nick worked his suspension tuning magic dialing the bike in just for me.

All I can say is

WOW! HOLY COW! FOOKIN FANTASTIC! ::012:: ::012:: ::012::

The bike is transformed.

With the stock suspension I could feel every ripple in the road. Nothing harsh but I knew they were there. Now I dont feel those little ripples at all. Bigger bumps the bike just soaks them up. The roads from my house to Nicks have some nasty frost heaves. A couple of them would pitch the bike pretty good with the stock suspension. Lift my ass off the seat. No more!!

And now the best part.
Cornering is super. The bike is completely neutral. Just point it and go. Feels like its on rails.

Well worth the investment. I am completely satisfied.
Nick is a super nice guy and will work with you to optimize the suspension for you. Whether you install yourself or have Nick do it. If you are within range of Nick's place in Bangor you should strongly consider making the trip and having Nick do the install and optimization. I arrvied at Nick's @8am and was driving home @ 3pm.

Also finished painting the cowls silver for the Euro look.

Last Thursday: Replaced the rear shock spring with a Eibach 0800.225.0850. Definitely makes a positive difference for us heavy weights.

Today: Changed oil and filter. The oil level was at the very bottom of the Sight Glass. I am going to measure the amount of oil that was drained.

Those are the Hepco & Becker Gobi cases. You can find them at Premier Cycle Accessories, Adventure MotoStuff, and Capital Cycle.

I almost got those, but opted for Caribou in the end. They're definitely purdy!

I love the look of the black Gobis. Just curious why you didn't go with the black and silver ones.

And the answer isn't self-apparent?

Saturday this past weekend was a wonderful day. My daughter woke up in a great mood, she actually sat with dad to eat some breakfast. Met a new friend,Trevor from the forum who stopped by to help him change his rear tire for his journey towards South America. It was sunny and 72 here in Seattle.
OH, and grandma helped watch my daughter while I went for a small ride with Trevor.

So, what i did to the bike was: I didn't take a pic, but while escorting DcSTrom out of town towards Mt. Rainier National Park, I turned over 10,000 miles.

Truely a great day!!!!

Good weekend:
1) Went up to Vancouver and picked up a black OEM topbox (and a bottle of scotch at the duty-free!) :p
2) Rode back down HWY 9 the whole way (see pics from Acme, WA). The white-tipped mountain is the Mt. Baker volcano.
3) Took the wife out on the pillion. She didn't like it. :(May have not stiffened the shocks enough. Am planning on getting Rich's in Kingston, WA to construct a removeable throne for "the Queen". Must keep baby happy.
4) Odometer turned: 1000 miles
5) Put on 3M Tankslapper film. You get really good at by the time you finish. The piece around the fuel cap is a **##@@!!
6) Didn't do any chores around the house. ::008::
