I have found on the right side of my bike the lower front fastener doesn't line up with the angle it needs to go in easy. the other three are great. I will put it in last and ever so slightly bow the plastic cover to get the screw the same angle as the socket on the frame and it usually goes in pretty easy. Took me a few times to get that in the first few times I had that cover off but I don't even think about it now. goes right in as long as I bow the cover.

It was yesterday but on my way home from work my brake was dragging. I thought well crap here we go again with caliper issues. The pistons on my calipers always look like garbage. I found the grease i had on the slider pins had frozen. I cleaned the pistons as best i could cleaned the pins and changed all the brake fluid for the brakes and clutch. Much better. For those of you who ride year round how do you keep the caliper pistons from rusting and degrading.

Took out the ECU. I didn't follow instructions and took the cap bolt out instead of just loosening. Made it easier to get the ECU out but may be a pain getting that bolt back in. I will deal with it then... tomorrow sending it of to AC to flash it. Had my Garage Pal supervising...

Took the Shinko 705s off. The back was worn out after 8000km and very slippery on wet tar. The front had worn unevenly (some blocks higher than others) causing a bad steering wobble.
Fitted Michelin Anakee adventure tires. All good so far.

Who's AC and where are they, please? I'm thinking of a flash before the weather breaks.

Thanks in advance

Spent a few hours this past week pulling the shock and suspension links. Only had this bike a few months so this is just another thing I'm checking...
I don't know if either PO had ever worked on these parts but all looked good for 83K miles. Just some cleaning +fresh grease and it was back together.
Note: had to loosen the exh header to remove the forward-most bolt on the link (barely visible behind the brake spring).

Mr. BR

Forum member avc8130.
PM him with a message and your email and he will get back with you very quickly. $275 and that includes return shipping. He is in NJ. Said about a 5 day turnaround. As in he has it for a day or two and it is sent back. Search the Forum and there seems to be a lot of happy customers of his.

Got these crash bar bags for my Norway trip, as I need a little more luggage space. This Lomo gear is so good, completely waterproof, 6.5ltr a side and at £39.95 a bargain IMO. I’ve also got the bigger, 60ltr drybag for the rear seat, as I won’t be using panniers.

I’ve used a 40ltr drybag from Lomo for 7 years and probably 15 trips/tours of varying lengths. It’s still in perfect condition (albeit it a tad dirty), never leaked and was about £20 when I got it. I sometimes wonder why I still see SW Motech, Givi and Oxford drybags strapped to bikes, they’re double the price usually.

A big plus for me with the Lomo drybags instead of sacks, is that your gear goes in like a normal bag and not stuffed in at one small end.

Now see, if I had access to bags like those, I probably would have tried them first before the Storm Industry ones I got. But Lomo are hard to come by over here.

I cleaned and greased the bolts a few months ago, except the one blocked by the exhaust. Not a minute too soon by the look of them despite the bike only being 2 years old. Did you just loosen the nuts off the studs at the exhaust port to give you a bit of play in the down pipe?

I was hoping to just loosen them but I ended up taking the bolts off and letting the headers drop away from the head. My skid plate also prevented the exhaust from lowering far enough so that came off too... not a big deal in the end. The muffler stayed in place however.
