Slipped on another set of Dunlop Trailmaxs. Ive been very happy with em as a 50/50. They handle what I hit offroad and street great. My S10 is my choice of commuter this time of year with rains and bad weather, with them at the wear indicators it was time. Very impressed with life of em as Id of guessed around 5k, but when I checked my records over 10k! For me thats outstanding as Ive never had any set on my mc last over 4k.

Put on a set of Motoz Tractionator adventure tyres, front is the dualventure
Pretty happy with them so far as far as grip and handling goes on both road and dirt but boy do they howl, I've never known a tyre so noisy
I hope they settle down, they were easy enough to fit but the front didn't want to seat the bead, had to run a ratchet strap around it and then it was fine
The rear had no problem seating

How does the booster plug affect fuel mileage?

I wonder if one could accomplish exactly the same thing as the boater plug does by just relocating the existing intake air temp sensor outside of the air box? Zero expense.

Of course one would need to McGiver some sort of plug for the air box.

At the end of the day the sensor will just be an NTC resistor, the booster plug will just be swapping it out for one of a different rating to fool the ecu to think the air temps are lower. In theory the sensor is sitting in the cold airflow so moving it won’t make a huge difference as it’s still sensing the same air. Splicing the wiring and adding another resistor in line might be an option, but you’d need someone with proper electronics knowledge to work out what size would work best.

that would not be complicated. it would be necessary to measure the resistance between both cables, with the cold motorcycle….measure it with the hot motorcycle…..and then buy a resistor that measures the cold engine (cold air is supposed to be denser than hot air: more density, more fuel

In practice, the temperature inside the air box is not the same as ambient. I’ve got an external ambient air temperature gauge on my bike and it consistently shows 5° or more (sometime a lot more) degrees cooler than the in air box sensor. In air box reading only gets within 5° or so at highway speeds, any other condition it’s reading is higher still.

added a seat concepts rear, it works great for a mini backrest.

I don't know if their other seats are in stock, but this was ordered at 9pm and arrived at my door 2 days later. Last one i ordered for my old bike to near two months to arrive.

It looks like it slopes up at the back. Hard to tell from photo.
yep, its slopes up all around the edge and in the back it's like sitting in a chair where your butt is supported all around, it uses a strut inside to give support to the side "wings" it's crazy comfy. Great for some long miles. Only tiny downside is if you are riding where you need to stop or put a foot down a lot it gets to be a pain as the the wings get in the way as you sit in it almost. So, you have to scooch up to set your leg down, you can't just set it down to the side like other saddles.

Not for offroad use for the same issue. Not a prob for me I've got a seat problem and have a saddlemen and seat concepts hanging on the wall I swap too as needed, never could decide which I liked best so kept em both.

Nice. I stop too much so would not suit me. I can see why people like them so much.I have Seat Concepts which does me ok. I never got round to putting the rear one on though. Looking at your photo am going to put it on as i like how high it sits. It will suit the pad i have to stop me sliding back. Thanks for the photos.

Bi-annual brake fluid change. Normally, the clutch fluid is the worst shape, but it wasn't too bad this time. The brakes fluid all looked pretty good.
My clutch was the hardest. I must have over torqued the screws on the master cover the last time. Had to dig out my old (1970's) manual impact driver. Then I vacuumed all the fluid out and it took forever to bleed it back. Finally used the Vacuum pump instead of the clutch handle. I really hate that tiny reservoir.
For the brakes, I vacuumed the reservoirs, and then pumped the new fluid through. I had to have the wife help with the left front. Cycled the ABS and bled them some more. Based on the other thread, I did take some time to clean the front caliper pistons and inspect pads and rotor. I'll check the rear pads tomorrow.

Do you use JIS screwdrivers on the screws?

Ive just had the center stand off no grease at all 2020 model no wonder I was struggling to put it on mains, I have a slight chatter I think its the splines on the drive do I take off to lube them? After this I have take rear pegs bits grease and put back again no grease! I will go through the lot over the next few months

well since writing this I have taken off the lot, re-greased and its lots better, there was hardly any grease on the splines, glad I did as my rear pads were well down so get them on or
der too

When ever changing out brake fluid in clutches or brake's I find it much better and easier to never remove the fluid. I just use a bottle with the appropriate fluid in it, about 1/3 full. Run a hose from the bleeder fitting into the bottle so the hose is in the fluid. Then I open the fitting and pump the pedal or lever, depending on which one is being serviced. But never empty the reservoir but keep adding fresh fluid and pumping till clean fluid comes out at the bleeder. This should not take more then a couple minutes to do.
We service 100's of clutch and brake system, .5hr is the rate, never had issues.
All you are really doing is circulating the old fluid out and circulating new fluid in, while caution taken to never introduce air into the system.

Yea, I do the same. I put speed bleeders on it and just run it out via the bleeder, putting fresh in the reservoir before it gets to the intake for the line.

There's another way to do it?

LOL. Just this morning I couldn't get mine on the stand. Realized it was binding. What a difference some lubing makes! I don't know if I've done it before on a 2014. Did the side stand, shifter, and rear brake lever too.
