As big as Texas is, at 268,597K square miles. . . . Alaska has 663,300K square miles. California "only" has 163,696K square miles, but some fan-freakin'-tastic roads, and weather.
So here is Alaska versus Europe:

And yes, California has some of the best roads anywhere, and some of the worst, most selfish drivers (I see this more since I no longer live in SoCal).

fwiw - Roughly 40% of US citizens own a passport.
My passport just came back from renewal today :)

Shown the other way, all of Europe fits into the flat middle cropland States of the US, between the Rocky Mountains and Mississippi River with a bit of room to spare. It's always a chuckle to hear people say they want to see the US in a couple of weeks or even month.

Some Aussie friends used to say it was relatively common to travel 2/300 miles to a party/dinner... I expect that the US is similar judging by the vastness of it.?

When I did my Saddle Sore 1000 (1000 miles in 24 hours or less), I rode from Phoenix, through Las Vegas and on to Denver. If I had taken the direct route from Phoenix to Denver, I would not have surpassed the 1000 mile mark. I have also done several cross country drives (Phoenix to San Jose area, 12 hours, Phoenix to Dallas, 2 days) with my longest run being Las Vegas to Orlando a couple of years ago. I had 2 weeks worth fo work in Florida and needed all of my equipment for at least one of the jobs. So it made sense to drive there. Took me 3 days driving there (stopped 3 nights), and only 2.5 driving back (I only stopped 2 nights). I also had to drive to Miami (another 4 hours from Orlando) for a portion of the trip before heading back to Orlando for the 3rd job, and then on home afterwards.

To help with the size of the US, take a look at the Iron Butt rides that can be done. I was going to attempt the CC50 (Coast to Coast in 50 hours or less) when I still had my ST. It's typically run between San Diego, CA and Jacksonville, FL. I was never able to make it work with my schedule though...

And one last bit about Texas...El Paso, the western most city in Texas is closer to Phoenix AZ (2 states away) than it is to Dallas TX. Granted the difference is less than 100 miles, but having done that drive a few times, its amazing just how much of Texas there is...

Depends on what part of the country you're in. East of the Mississippi, smaller states, and more people. West of the Mississippi, everything starts spreading out. The first time my wife (born & raised Texan) came out to New England, she was amazed that during a 45 minute drive, we traveled through three states.

You could do 3 countries in that time here !

Interesting, yours is narrower than mine. Were there different sizes now? I think the risers come in two heights now.

Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
I think they have on that is the same height as the OEM one. This mod is gonna work well for me.

It seems narrow, though the angles do match those of the platform behind the seat.

Installed some speed bleeders on the front brakes, rear brake and clutch. Not just to get the nerve up to bleed the brakes and clutch.
Installed a set of speed bleeders on my Goldwing years ago and wow they make the bleeding so much easier, really should get a set for the Tenere.

Another view regarding rusty plugs and coils.

I noticed last year that a couple of plugs had very slightly rusted, and as my bike is garaged and rarely left outside, I assumed it was due to rain coming up from the front wheel, rather than rain running down from the tank. This was further reinforced by the amount of road debris atop the engine.

I fitted a fender extender over the winter and have just come back from 9 days in France, including some rain and wet road riding. The spray around and above the exhaust manifold is undoubtedly far far less now that I have the extender in place. I’m confident that come plug change time this will make difference.
I’ve just had the plugs out, the fender extender appears to have worked. There’s so sign whatsoever of water ingress in any of the plug wells.

Knob small regeneration. I made insert dia 15x5, with hole - according drawing. I made a socket in the original knob, and with the help of glue, I placed a push-in sleeve in it.

Next step: new knob already prints from ASA, once the seat of the sleeve.

I was thinking that they would be great for use as OE box openers. Somehow affix/attach a key to them.

so it this a replacement to the stock knob on the rear shock or somewhere else?, either way great modeling
Hi. Yes, it is a replacement to the stock knob on the rear shock. The steel insert is a reinforcement, because the mounting in the original knob is often damaged.
On the picture - final version after 3D printing.

and damaged, original one. If it is damaged, turning the knob does not change the shock settings.

Elric, I think I want one of those as well. Let me/us know how you hopefully never have to use that. But could you please let me/us know how it feels over your jacket and in use. It's a fantastic concept and worth the price of admission.
