After a few days of love (and not so much love getting the valve cover off:mad:), I've torqued wheel spokes, lowered suspension (Tabasco rear link and forks raised 12mm), greased suspension linkage, checked valves (all within spec), replaced air filter and spark plugs (all looked decent so will go 30k for next replacement), synchronized throttle bodies (turned out white screw 1/4 turn and adjusted other cylinder from there), flushed brake and clutch fluid, changed rear end oil, changed engine oil and filter, and sprayed a little polish on the paint... Whew. Afterwards, rode a hundred miles yesterday and bike runs nice (but did so before).

Installed the Nighteye LED and the larger headlight caps. I cannot yet vouch for the nighttime performance but will try to this weekend. The bulbs took a few attempts at getting properly in place, I took the bulb out of the lock ring and installed just the ring then inserted the bulb which finally worked. The caps popped right on with no issues.

I recently rode the first time at pitch dark night with those NightEye LEDs and the brightness is spectacular. But it was a windy road just South of the Dragon and when you lean this bike hard the beam goes nowhere the direction you are heading. And with those bright white LEDs the difference between beam and darkness is even more pronounced so it's a little scary. Anyway - I do now understand the appeal of BMW's adaptive headlights.

And that's another reason why I added some Led lights three to be exact

Gave the wheels and tires a good scrubbing with a stiff bristle brush and Super Clean all purpose cleaner. Once everything was clean and dry, I zip tied the spokes where they cross.

Not today but, Friday. Had recall on wiring loom performed, new air filter while tank was off. New Kenda Big Block Pavers and was told needed new rear brakes all done at 7980 mile. 2012 leftover
bought new on 1MAR17. Is eight thousand miles about right for the Meltzers?
Yes, 8K on the Metz Tourance EXP is about right especially the rear tire as it squares off early and easily.

Yesterday the 12 year old granddaughter and I removed the crash bars and replaced the battery. Amazon $40 Yz14. If I get more than a year I am ahead.

I have ridden with Patrick (right side crash bar) an the last Rainy Romney (left side) so needed to sand off rust, straighten bent brackets, and flat black paint them.

12 year old was in charge of storing hardware. Put it back together today by myself and was only missing one grade 8 bolt. It was a big sucker so where is it? Moved the lawn mower and snowblower and then to ACE.

Hope I never take them off again. Left is 12mm socket and right is 5mm hex.

Replaced my GI Pro gear indicator with a new GL Pro - X. The original was about 5 years old and for some reason, in any gear started to rapidly flicker at 23 mph, a bit like led indicators without a regulator. Thankfully no need to re-do the wiring as it has an in-line 4 pin connector.:) And the new model is programmable and a lot better.

As it weighs next to nothing and I don't have a dash infill I have used Kletts to attatch it to the bike. 20190429_090703.jpg420190429_090808.jpg
