Made my dash plate and installed switches for aux lights and abs cutout switch. Added a USB/voltmeter while I was at it. Need to get it all wired up. That’s for another day.
Nice skills, looks OEM.

I spent a part of today missing my Vstrom. Why? Two words... spark plugs. I decided fit the G-power plugs I bought earlier this year. All I can say is that I hope the person who decided on the packaging job of that engine installation is on Santa's naughty list. I struggled to access most of it due to the size of my hands and refitting the breather to the bottom of the airbox was an exercise in mental dexterity as well as physical. I am not looking forward to the valve clearance check one bit! Still, the job is done and the old plugs look to be in good shape. No rust or anything, so at least I know the condition in that area of the bike. It starts and runs so all I need to do is take it out for a run once the weather improves.

I need a beer...
I saw the picture an I was going to ask if that was difficult! then I read the actual message... lol. I want to change the spark plugs but it looked super complicated.

Updated my 'basically' useless stock female 12v charging plug. Installed a simple USB / volt meter in the same spot. It was very easy and basically a plug-N-play. I did not use the stock power supply. I used the larger supplied wires that connect directly to the battery. No more keeping up with USB adapters, or the adaptor not charging going down the road for communication, etc.

1) Stock plug taken out. Just unplugs
2) New USB plug
3) Installed and turned (on) to read the volts (can also turn it off, that's nice)
4) Works perfect and charging phone
5) On the other side I still have my heavy duty 12V plug for compressor, etc, etc
6) The new USB as it sits when not in use

Anyone interested in installing something similar, Amazon has a great selection of these type USB charging receptacles.USB (1).JPGUSB (2).JPGUSB (5).JPGUSB (7).JPGUSB (8).JPGUSB (9).JPG

Hey Tabasco,
I'm going to add a second 12 volt socket to my 2018 ES. I understand that the stock 12 volt socket is fused to about only 2 AMPS. I want to be able to power an air compressor. Please can you provide some additional information and pictures if possible about the wiring details, that is the power source from the fuse panel area.
I'm a little "thumbs" when it comes to wiring.
Finally, I only want power to these sockets when the ignition key is on.
Thanks, appreciate your advice and assistance.
