Yes one on left. About .5 mm to wear bars and squared badly. I'll keep it as a emergency spare. New one leans into corners much smoother. I would like to see a picture of one worn to the limits. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Different riders, different riding styles, different tolerances for wear. I was at, but not into the wear bars at 17,700 miles. But like SilverBullet, I'd have ridden that tire a lot longer. No danger of hitting cords there for quite a while. Squared off isn't that big a deal for me. As long as I don't feel like I'm going to be doing serious off pavement riding, I'll ride a tire down to the wear bars. Especially bias ply, which don't tend to suddenly go away fast at the end like some radials do.

On my first set of Dakar's I got around 10,700km out of the rear and was pretty happy about that. Tyre looked similar (pics in blog post below) to the one shown in holligl's picture. Yes, it still had meat on the side and was behaving on the road but in gravel I was floating around a bit much. The front is still going strong (I was riding some muddy roads a week ago) at just under 17,000km. That's just awesome mileage for me!

I got about 10000 miles out of the rear D E-07 which included a 9000 mile trip to Alaska & back. The front just came off at 13000 miles, but still had lots of tread left if just sticking to the street. The noise was starting to get to me. Very loud. The tire started doing weird things too every now & then. So had my spare put on that only had 8000 miles & still looks like new.

On a different note I had the guys over at Tfog in Golden, CO check the valves at 32000 miles & they were spot on. All were within 3-4 mm inside the loose end. I had new spark plugs put in too after being in there for 20000 miles. Jim said the ones that came out could have gone another 20000 miles. Great service & rates from Tfog!

These tires are really tuff. If I remember right , this tire had almost 13k miles on it. Still had more miles to go.

That's one slick knobby! They probably wear slower the wider they get!

Pulled my wheels to get ready to change my own tires for the first time ever tomorrow. Pulling off the totally bald K60's that were on it when I bought the bike. Going to replace them with Shinko 705 R's.

super08, it does and I'm thinking next month when I don't have to write a check it will feel even better.... the best thing is I'm still really happy with my bike and will be riding it for some years to come.... 29000 miles just barely broke in... even have a few more farkles I can do to keep it interesting.....

Last weekend I drove, intentionally, my S10 so far that the gauge" went pass 0 km...after is passed 0, gauge showed "Lo". (the gauge that shows km/miles left in tank)
When I filled with gasoline, I put 21,5 L in the tank (5,67 gallon), so I could have been going a bit more.
That was 460 km (286 miles), on one tank of gasoline, and yes I drive very smooth :D
In this season the average consumption is 23,1 km/l (54,32 miles/gallon)

Very good to know. Sounds like we get plenty of warning to fill up before the tank is dry. Even when the fuel level meter flashes, which is supposed to indicate ”reserve”, and mileage counter going from that point, I dont think I have ever put more than 4.7 gallons in the tank.

I actually drove about 5 km (3 miles), with the gauge showing "Lo"..
No problem what so ever ::008::
So yes, it give warnings in really good time.

And then back to the subjet (I'm sorry for that, did not think about it)
I did nothing to my S10 today, working away from home for 3 days..but the hotel room is nice :(

I pulled off the grip puppies and the windshield winglets I put on the other day. The grip puppies make the grips too big, and the winglets seemed to make more wind noise, not less.

Put on my license plate and passed 1500 miles. I think she's starting to open her eyes but I suspect it'll take a lot longer to wake her all the way up!
