Tourance are £211 a pair here. Tyres seem cheaper in France (and more are available) - I had a Bridgestone AT41 front fitted in Chambery last month - the tyre was only 115E (£101) and 19E ride in ride out fitting.
I have Metzler Tourance fitted, ride on the road & find the tyres perfect for my riding no matter what the weather/road conditions. Great grip/feel, never had an issue & seem to get pretty good mileage out of a set.My 2017 XT1200Z came with Bridgestones on, (A41s if I remember correctly) and I found them really good. When the time came to change, (I always change as a pair), I put my money on Michelin PR5 Road Trail tyres because I really like Michelin tyres and I have been delighted with them as I have been with my previous bikes wearing PR3 and PR4 tyres. Now every so often I get to wondering how other tyres fare. I have ridden other bikes with Michelin Anakees, Metzler and Continental tyres for example and found them good but I have got to wondering what the Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2 tyres are like and if they suit the S10 as Ducati fit them to their Multistradas and they seem to perform well enough and get decent write-ups. Now my riding is 100% tarmac so don’t even think about knobblies and the like, and I ride in U.K. and Europe and as many of you will know, it rains a bit over here, so has anyone fitted Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2s and if so, I would appreciate your feedback.
i had PR5 on my s10 for the last 3 yrs best tyres i,ve ever run. got mitas E07 on at the moment lol fuckin awfull don,t askI live in Wales and do most of my riding in Wales and I have used PR 3, PR 4 and PR 5 since 2009 on my Buell Ulysses, Honda ST1300, Kawasaki Versys 1000 and my S10 and I can assure you that they work on all Welsh roads and I have even used them in England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Poland, Denmark and Sweden too in all sorts of conditions and all types of roads and I am very happy with them indeed.
I know both you and Rob like them and where you are. That's why I say tyres are very personal. You both may well ride better than me. Robs had some very quick bikes for example. I am probably much more sloppy than both of you so pick up different feed back from the front. I seem to wear them out faster than most people as well. I go down tight farm roads with grass in the middle just looking about for example. I just don't get the buy in with the PR's. I was in the Norfolk Wolds on the S10 with them on and had to be so careful that it made me over cautious. That's not a feeling that i got from the Avon Trailriders i put on after. And that's just turning into junctions.I live in Wales and do most of my riding in Wales and I have used PR 3, PR 4 and PR 5 since 2009 on my Buell Ulysses, Honda ST1300, Kawasaki Versys 1000 and my S10 and I can assure you that they work on all Welsh roads and I have even used them in England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Poland, Denmark and Sweden too in all sorts of conditions and all types of roads and I am very happy with them indeed.
I weigh as much as you and I like riding against the tank too...Something else i didn't consider is i weigh 70kg at the moment without riding gear. I sit further forward on the bike. I do not sit in the pan at the rear of the seat where most people would. My Seat Concepts is great for where i sit as it's wider at the front. I had to put a pad behind me to stop me moving back on the seat as when picking the bike up in bends the front would leave the ground, only a little i only notice it when i change up. I am probably to aggressive with the throttle. I have 2 trapped nerves in my right arm. At the wrist and elbow. That's why i don't have that connection with the throttle. So im not blaming the PR's it's the way I ride. Shite
thats what i was going to use after the pr5 as i was told they warm up quicker have as much grip, but do a few miles more than the pr5I weigh as much as you and I like riding against the tank too...
It makes me " feeling " better the front wheel.
I am on my first set of Continental Trail Attack 3, more or less I have had them on for 10'000km ( 6000 miles), mostly mountain roads and very little motorway.
They look probably more than half thread left, probably 2000-3000 miles easily .
The front looks more or less like the back wheel.
Lot of grip, tried on wet and I felt confident.
I will buy them again.
Just my opinion
I had TA2 before and would definitely buy them or the TA3. First time i sat on an S10 I felt immediately at home. That's a great feeling. Bikes with seats that slope up onto the tank are not for me. Unless it's for off road. But that's a different style of riding.I weigh as much as you and I like riding against the tank too...

I would check that whatever you buy is not designed to wear front and rear evenly. The Trailmax Meridian being a case in point.Although I am a Michelin PR fanboy, I have thought about Conti TA3s as my next tyre as they seem to be highly recommended and I haven’t heard a bad word against them. Having said that, I will be due a new rear tyre quite soon but my front PR5 has loads of wear left, I would estimate that I use 2 rears to 1 front tyre which goes to show the difference in the way different riders use their tyres on the same or very similar bikes.
I'm finishing off my first TA3 on the rear of my SAS and I can say it's been an excellent all round street performer. I was completely satisfied and would have bought another one if they had been available. No hesitation about the TA3.... I‘m on 6600miles on my pair, the rears on the limit and is coming off any day for a new one for my trip to spain. Fronts fine though, might just last the second rear. Doesn’t seem to matter which bike but I never get much over 5500miles from a rear, so these are a bonus at 6600.I weigh as much as you and I like riding against the tank too...
