They're asking $7800. That's too much even with only 2700 miles?
The bike isn't even broken in, but at that age, I would be worried about all the rubber bits on it from sitting around. If they are original, they all need replacing. The difference, of getting the bike to where it needs to be, and a good used Gen 2, may be negligible. These bikes will easily go 200K miles with normal maintenance, so don't get scared with ones that have 30K miles on them. They're asking $7800. That's too much even with only 2700 miles?
what rubber bits are you referring to ? With 50,000 miles on my previous 2013 Tenere the only rubber that was ever replaced was tires and that was simply because they wore out.The bike isn't even broken in, but at that age, I would be worried about all the rubber bits on it from sitting around. Tires, if they are original, even with that mileage, I would change them. Check all the hoses, some don't age well with no use.what rubber bits are you referring to ? Like most folks I will also recommend looking for a generation two 2014 or newer, they have a bunch of minor but very nice improvements for not much more money.
when you say bone stock does that mean no luggage ? If there is no luggage system included my opinion the price is way to high. Maybe your not interested in any type of luggage system ? I still think the price is to high.Hello all, newbie here! I’m coming from the Sport-Touring world of Beemers for the last 27yrs. For several years now,
I‘ve been lurking around ADV rider world/ Duo sport bikes with keen interest. Now, due to recent neck issues (surgeries)
I really need a more up right position. I’ve only sat on a 2012 s10 and fit real well!! I have rode KTM’s, GS 1200, GS 800
but as I said, the Tenere seemed to feel good. Sorry for the ramble but, there is now a 2012 with 12,000+miles locall.
They want $7,999 and it’s bone stock. That seems high?? Any thoughts ? I will likely be trading my 98’ K1200RS
in on what ever Tenere’ within reason I find. Thanks for reading!
I'm going to stick with the same advise that I gave shaynster….for a little more money, go with a Gen II. (if your budget can handle it) There's nothing "wrong" with the Gen I, but the Gen II is better. More features, and a couple of gremlins worked out.….Any thoughts ?....
