Well it's no longer "planned", I rode my big trip 2 months ago!

I did a 3,000 mile loop from Los Angeles up to Crater Lake and back. Rode up the 395 and went along the eastern side of cali. Visited Mono Lake, lake tahoe, Mt. Shasta, Crater Lake, and down the coast through the Redwoods. Spent 3 days in San Francisco with my cousin, and rode home along Big Sur.

It was my first Big trip I ever took. I am thinking that Alaska sounds fun next year ::001::

I did some of those areas last year - specifically the Redwoods, Mt. Shasta and Lake Tahoe. Some beautiful countryside and riding. Consider the Stewart-Cassiar route north if you do go to Alaska next year. IMO that's the best riding route unless you take the ferry.

I agree, I was floored by how beautiful that part of California is. I've lived in SoCal most of my life and never had any idea that California was so beautiful. ::025::

Ok that is Crater Lake, but it is relevant ;)

Thanks for the tip about the Stewart-Cassiar route. I will check that out. I had been thinking about going up through CAN to Alaska, and then taking the ferry from..I think Juneau? to Prince Rupert on the way back.

It would have to be Haines because Juneau is land locked. Did the ferry a few years back and it was a wonderful experience , and I would highly recommend making your way to Prince of Wales Island . Has to be of the most awesome places I have ever visited.

Supposed to be in the mid 100's next week. Decided to take a short Cool Down trip to the north coast and surrounding areas. I just finished mapping Day 6 and still a couple days away from home, or...

Many roads and routes I have wanted to ride for years and just did not get around to them.

my wife, the big blue beast, and I returned yesterday from a 4000 mi trip to BC, from Colorado. Fantastic roads, scenery, and 15 days of perfect weather. Averaged 375 mi on riding days. Mitas E-07 now got 7,500 mi, got a 1000 left. Love these skins, but have never road in heavy rain. Ordered another pair today. The Beast got 21,000 now and has never missed a beat. Can't count draining the battery with the key left on. Thankfully all downhill from the summit of Chief Joseph byway north of Cody for a easy jump start. Did lots of dirt too connecting back roads. Mr.T is an amazingly enjoyable ride.

November 1, ride down through France and Spain to Fuengirola, to meet up with some Finnish friends for a few days riding in Andalucia. Have yet to decide on the route back to the U.K.

Wicked, I'm on the wait list for the Aug 31 sailing! Did not think that space would be an issue. Apparently the wait list started at the end of May. Will keep my fingers crossed.
So I got on the ferry but plans have changed and I canceled my reservation. My neighbour bought a 2014 ES so he and I are going to tour southern BC if the fires have not burned it all up. Looks like areas that I wanted to go may be off limits or rather black but it's a big province so will see what happens. After we part ways he will ride home and I'll go to the island and visit the folks. Looking forward to it.

Thinking of riding down the gulf coast from Houston to Cancun in December and then meet up with my wife at her family's place in Guanajuato (~1 hr from San Miguel de Allende for those of you that know Mexico). Hoping to ride with a friend if he can make it otherwise i might do it solo.

I am off to WeSTOC, the western rally for Honda ST (both 1100 & 1300) next Friday. I will be aboard the Super-T Instead of my ST1300 due to an unresolved misfire that recently developed. Traveling from Ventura, CA to Spokane Valley, WA. Hope they'll let me in!
