Just picked up a 2014 Super ES in Seattle and rode it home to Michigan for my first ride. Seat and windshield sucked bad. Will be changing both soon. Otherwise the bike is nice.

Congrats and welcome. I had a similar thought on the windshield as I was driving it home from the dealership. I ordered a Madstad bracket and windshield right away and have been happy with the results.

Agreed on the seat...ugh....I swear by my Sargeant seat HUGE improvement

I still have the stock wind screen but I added the yamaha winglets and a Puig top deflector. I am very happy with the current results. Dig around the forum. Lots of folks have other alternatives that work for them

Thanks, I've spent hours reading about windshield stuff. I am pretty set on getting the Madstad kit.

Thanks. I'm 6'6" and 275, so it's hard for me to be comfortable on a bike. I tried the $30 amazon deflector, but all it did was change the frequency of the buffeting. Just to get home from Seattle, I ended up cutting about 1.5" off the stock windshield, shimming it to tilt back at me, and tilting the defector to aim the airflow at my helmet. That gave me the cleanest air and hardly any buffeting. But it was noisy... I also did the seat level mod and that helped a lot for the butt. Tried an airhawk, but it didn't help. Ended up buying a gel pad at Target so I could at least do an hour before stopping...
