Well done daily riding after 5 years, 180k miles and 3 bikes.

That's good on you for peeling off those kind of miles. Commuter miles are some of the best to keep our skills honed. I commuted on my Ninja in LA and OC for quite a few years and understand where you are coming from.

More then Commuting its International travel long distance time and lots and lots Of Canyon rides, Work, The store. I've been noticing more and more that I can't ride long distances like I used to. Plus I'm heading back to school and want to cut down on stress from running in LA traffic and drivers.

I will say when I'm traveling and on my bike in heavy traffic it's nice to have the ability to filter lanes and get around it.

I'm the opposite when it comes to heavy traffic. I very much prefer a bike in traffic. Much less stress than driving a four wheel vehicle. . . . for me.
I dont like cages, but in la you can lane split. Ya I can understand and been sitting in traffic it sucks.

The ability to lane split in California was the primary motivator for me to get my motorcycle endorsement in the first place.

Ya here in you can save a ridiculous amount of time and money from parking. I cant imagine spending 2.5 hours per day on traffic plus the weekends

I commuted through the L.A. traffic for over 10 years, some of it was fun, fair amount was work, but cutting commute time by up to 2/3's made it worth it when it was not fun. I have to admit, if I could not split traffic, and it was stop and go, I prefer to be in a car. Comfy seat and A/C is better than stop, move 10 feet, stop, while sweating on the bike.

Dude totally agree the air conditioning thing was a big factor but also the factor I relax and not worry about someone on there cellphone taking me out.

I probably should hang it up as well but only a little over 100,000 miles to go for 1 million miles on motorcycles so I hate to give up now.
One day for me but not quitting just cutting back to weekends only and towing for long distance weekends. Who knew you can tow with a honda civic. I'm getting her tomorrow

I get it. Run 36k/yr miles, especially as a commuter, and after not too long the bike is just another tool.
Agreed that why I went with the st dont get me wrong I love her but looked at it from a tool perspective mostly. But want something that did everything.
