Looks like 176.00 to me. 147.00 on the Gen II.
Hah, you went to the first post and the front triangle! Gotcha. Most of us have melted the instrument front cover.

I have read about the sun damage like that but I have never seen it. I think my wind shield is always to dirty to concentrate any sun through it. ha ha.

I have seen a few pictures of members that have made various shades and covers, if so please share what you did so I can shamelessly borrow your good idea :)
How about some flat black (or color match) spray paint on the inside bottom half of the windscreen?

LOL, I was thinking the same thing, Don. I didn't go look it up personally, but it's hard to imagine any part of the tupperware around the instrument pod costing 6 bucks.

I've only had this happen once, in five years of ownership. It's kind of a perfect storm of misfortune I think; sun at just the right angle, bike at just the right angle, etc. I think the easiest way to protect against it is just something you can throw over the windshield when you leave the bike. Pillowcases are a good solution; they pack down small, and you can just throw one in a tool tube or a pannier (or even under the seat). Even better might be a laundry bag with a drawstring; that way you could cinch the bag tight when it was on the windshield, so the wind doesn't blow it away.

I tuck my riding gloves up there most of the time when parked. Just minimal wrinkling in the speedo case.

I wouldn't want to put anything on top the dash to try and protect it, mainly because the sunlight is still getting focused onto the bike through the windscreen. I figure if the sun will melt a plastic dash, it might melt (or even set on fire) a pair of gloves or anything else sitting up there. Stopping the sun from going through the windscreen in the first place seemed to be the best way to prevent it.
