"Valuable" is a very subjective word. Means something different to each person. Right now, I think the original 336s are very valuable. Once the new ones get released in numbers, the prices might fall. I would imagine it's going to depend on whether a collector is looking for one, or a hunter. There's just something about a lever action carbine.

Smith & Wesson came out with this recently. It folds at the receiver/barrel which allows it to store at 16". Which allows it to be carried in a saddle bag. Comes with 3 magazines and a storage bag. I'm waiting 'till they bring out a .45 version since I have tons of .45 and not much 9mm. Ruger has came out with a similar version in 5.7mm, but it folds at the stock/receiver and that limits the folding length to 26".

Here's the link for more info: M&P® FPC | Smith & Wesson (smith-wesson.com)

A Keltec Sub2000 comes in 9mm and .40. It folds down to 16.25". View attachment 100099View attachment 100100
I have a friend that has one of those, and they're "ok". I am a fan of S&W. What I like about the Smith folder is that it comes with two 23rd mags and one 17rd. The two hi-cap mags also carry in the stock. The Smith also comes with a threaded barrel. The Kel-Tec does list for $200 less than the Smith.

Speaking of the .338 Lapua. It's great round and it serves a purpose if range an power is needed. But, oddly enough, .50 BMG is about half the price per round than the .338. "They" say that the .338 is a more accurate round. But the current record for a sniper shot is held by a Canadian sniper that was using the .50.

Haha, would love to try a 338 once. Don’t think it’s allowed over here, since it’s not a sporting caliber. My club has got a couple 308’s, really like them but at €1 and up a pop it’s a pretty expensive evening at the range.

Got an email from GunZoneDeals.Com today. For those that already have a Marlin 336 (.30-30), keep 'em. This website has them on sale for $1,495 shipping included. Pretty sure none of y'all paid that for yours.
