Stefan: apples to apples comparison, does show yours to be $2/3usd less expensive. And the website I was on shows it to all be out of stock.
Moto: website here shows $17.99, but out of stock.

The bare shelves thing was going on here too, but has let up. Except for .380. Apparently not popular enough to produce in larger lots yet.

Reman, but good stuff and made in TX. I've shot a bunch of it, not super cheap but $75 for 200 rnds ain't too bad.

They often have cans of 9mm at $75 for 250 rounds but ya gotta be quick to snap it up.

I'm not a fan of .380 because I don't see the point in it. I mostly shoot with a 9mm and when last asked what's the best round? I replied with: the one you can hit with because .45 ACP or .50 cal might be the best but unless you can hit it with it then it doesn't matter.

This is my other babe, the Springfield m1a scout. No mods since she is a thick girl. She fires a .308 round and is super fun to shoot. I went out bought 800 rounds at the same time. She's about 8 months old and has about 300 rounds through her. 20220306_162927.jpg though her. Holding it this way reminds me of the saying, "from my cold dead hands".

I have a buddy with a SOCOM one of those. I only have a plain version in a fancy dress.

She's just a plain Jane M1a. Wearing a Promag Archangel precision stock. It was less than $200 for the stock back when I got it. Now, they're mid $200s. Fun fact: Promag makes another chassis for the M1a; CQB. It would be perfect for the shorter barreled Scout. Optics planet has it, $196 and a 10% discount for new customers: ProMag Archangel M1A Close Quarters Stock | $13.00 Off Highly Rated w/ Free Shipping (opticsplanet.com)

I was eyeballing that stock for the last few months but did decide on it because it added weight. I had no need for the other features and mainly wanted it for the looks.

I like the collapsible stock. Very versatile. The original walnut stock doesn't have a mark on it. I wanted to keep it that way. Your already has the synthetic stock so . . . .

I'm eyeing balling this rifle now it will be my first AR and my only experiences are with M4 and M16 in the military. I considered the Springfield AR and even the Daniel Defense AR but I don't need 30k rounds of reliability or sub-MOA accuracy. I looked at the M&P sport II but I'm still not sold on it. Thoughts? I am looking to mount a Sig Romeo-5 red-dot optic as well for a deal at $979+ fees.sig.JPG

I have a Brady ban Colt M4 with a C.M.C trigger and Vortex Gen I Strike Eagle. (OE trigger sucked) My youngest has a 5yr old Colt M4, with the same Vortex scope, and the OE trigger is fine. My oldest has a S & W M4 with a Gen II Vortex Strike Eagle, and likes it. For the average person, the least expensive AR will be sufficient. Optics is a person-to-person thing.

My issue with red dots on rifles is that at distance, the dot covers the target; they're great for pistols. I'm also not a fan of muzzle brakes on 5.56s. The rifle has almost no recoil to start with, and a muzzle brake just makes it loud as f***.

What is that thing on the backside of the grip? I'm assuming that it's part of the California compliance. Looks like it makes stock non-collapsible. Never seen it before. I saw a review of this rifle on a show the other day. They liked it. Hard not to like an AR. Here's my old dog.

I'm sure that Sig Sauer is a fine firearm. The Smith and Wesson MP15, Ruger AR556 and Rock River also have some models that deserve a look. All are in that same price range. I have 2 different models of the Ruger AR556. Good shooters with no issues at all. Companies like Colt, Sig, Ruger, S&W etc.. are not going to put their name on junk. Look online for some reviews on whatever model interests you before you lay your money down.

Agreed. That's why price would be my deciding factor. But others look for other things like: certain fore ends, triggers (flat/curved), ambi-safety and mag release, etc. My two kids wanted the long fore end look, and removed their A2 front sight, "'cuz it looks cooler". I've used mine as a co-witness, and to push/pull shards of glass out of windows.

Ruger has recently upped their game on several of their new products.

The only big difference in ARs, IMO, is gas v. gas piston. And, if you're not going to shoot lots, and lots of rounds (close together) . . . . the piston version isn't worth the extra cost. My AR is probably in the 10k+ round area. I keep it clean, and it's a chrome lined heavy barrel. There's no difference in the groups today compared to when I first got it 20+ years ago.

Ya, the grip is a CA thing and easy to remove. Also, the stock is non-adjustable so this doesn't make it an AR (lol). With these changes, you are allowed to run a detachable mag just a normal AR.

Hello Mag, that's what I've been doing and they all say that an AR from a good company is good for the average person. I think I saw online that most people don't even put 300 rounds through their AR.
