I took mine for some exercise yesterday.
Yup, these Firestars do shoot nice!
Also brought along my .40S&W Beretta and my 10mm 1911..........
Was a nice outing to the Range. I was the only person in there for about an hour, till someone else arrived just before I left.

Now I have more cleaning to do!

Doesn't even look used at all.
I bought it used off a local gun forum, it was listed a long time with no interest because it didn't have the required local ten round magazines, so had to be sold "without mags." I can't recall what we paid for it, but it was a good deal. The seller disassembled the magazines and handed them to me after the purchase....magazine parts are legal or were or whatever. I can't keep up on how all the laws work/worked. We did get a ten round magazine later just to be compliant. I can't remember if he was the original owner, but it was in almost perfect condition when we got it.

We ran a few hundred rounds through it and it got my wife interested in hand guns. There's a small scratch on it, likely we did that. Otherwise, yes, it's in overall nice shape and I can't see any reason not to hold onto it. It's likely not worth a lot so just having it as a good functional tool is worth more than the dollars.

Look what the cat dragged in!

A British 12GA double barrel underlever. Beautiful condition and very neat engraving. Because it is BP I don’t need a permit for it, nor keep it in the safe. Only the ammunition is restricted, so I’ll start the process of filing for that soon. Happy me!

I’ve asked two gentleman on 2 different occasions about it last weekend and they both guess it to be between 1890&1910. When googling it that ads up. I learned that i can send an email to the Royal Armory in Leeds (UK) because they have all the documentation from G.E.Lewis. Costs a tenner i believe and they’ll tell you anything they can find. Maybe I’ll do that.
I did eventually send an email to the Royal Armories in Leeds and got a reply from the most helpful librarian. He went to great extent to find anything about my gun that he could. I even got a high resolution scan of the original registration, in the day book, from the gun including the name and adres of the man who brought it in.
Apparently these barrels and this action combination are from 26 aug 1897. Yes it got new factory barrels then. It doesn’t say why. The action part is older with an extremely early serial number. The factory didn’t even record the numbers in those days and didn’t sell them in sequential order. That serial number is #1296. Great to have some documented history with it.
