Dang the cost of ammo, would keep me in the poorhouse.
Reloading helps quite a bit. About the only calibers I reload anymore other than subsonic 9mm for suppressor use and 300 blackout. Loaded ammo costs about $150 a box of 20 for the Rigby...... I can reload it for about $1.70 a shot not including brass costs.

This is probably my favorite gun. SBR PAP M92 that I've done quite a bit of work on like cutting out the old rear trunnion and welding in one from a M70 so that I could use a real wood stock. Welded over the bullshit safety "read the manual" stamping they have to put on for import laws. Rethreaded the barrel from the 26mm ones down to 14:1LH so I could use regular AK muzzle devices. KNS piston yadda yadda yadda. I basically only shoot it suppressed anymore, in fact waiting for ATF paperwork to get approved and going to build a suppressor specifically for this gun and not just share it with my 300 blackout guns.

One of my friends is a big African Safari hunter. Some really BIG rounds. When he told me how much each round cost, it cured my want for any of those caliber rifles. Just the bullet cost was enough for me to really appreciate my .22.

This is my mums. She doesn’t drive it much now because she resents having to plug it in and charge it up. She thinks it’s wasting electric.

Yup, I don't know what's worse. . . . the recoil, or the price per round. The guy with the .338 said they were almost $5/rd.

I shot a 10ga shotgun hunting geese when I was a lot younger. The recoil got me into a bad habit of flinching when pulling the trigger. That really affected my accuracy.

I had the opportunity to shoot a Barret.50 cal andI think that 10ga kicked worse. I sold I a long time ago and have not missed it.

Funny you should mention the recoil.
This is the hardest mule-kicking firearm I own, and one of two firearms that my Dad passed down to me before he died.
It originally belonged to my Grandfather.

Stevens single-shot break-open 20-gauge.
It weighs absolutely nothing, and I can easily pick it up with just my pinky finger!
I am usually good for about 4 or 5 rounds with this one, and then I have to put it away with a bruised shoulder............

My other Shotgun is a Mossberg 12-guage.
This one has a Knox Spec-Ops, recoil-reducing Stock on it.
You can shoot this one all day long, and you barely feel any recoil.

I once bought my daughter a youth model 20-gauge. She had been launching clays for us for a long time and I wanted to let her join the fun. She took one shot, tried to hold it back, but couldn't help but to cry from the pain. My wife shot one round of skeet with that gun. She didn't cry, but was black and blue and sore for days after using that "youth" gun. What a horrible idea to make a gun so light. It was never used again and went to the dealer to sell for us.

Note that this safe is FN, not FNH. John Browning Edition. We don't know the exact age, but Herstal didn't join with FN until '73. It's combo dial only, and has what seems to be a powder coat, instead of paint. My son has it. I have a Tractor Supply version of a Winchester - Ranger Series. Mine weighs 300lb ish. His is over 800lbs, and only about 5' tall.
