Like the title says, I would like to try a couple of seats without buying them. I figure it's cheaper than buying multiple seats to find one that works and taking a huge loss. I'm willing to pay shipping both ways, or 1 way if I like it. I know it sounds weird, but I can't seem to come up with any other way to try different seats. If you live close to Chattanooga, that would be great too. Comfort is subjective and this is the first Corbin seat I have ever ridden, that didn't work fine for me.
I would really like to try a Set Laam seat or a Seat Concepts. I have no issues with sending you the amount of the seat via Paypal, as long as we can trust each other to refund it, if the seat doesn't work for me.
I wish we had some sort of seat exchange, it's cheaper to ship seats back and forth than to keep buying seats that don't work. Let me know if there are any takers and I can provide you with my phone number to discuss this.
I have over 12 years on the FZ1 forums and plenty of folks that can vouch for trustworthiness, just looking for a decent seat, not looking to scam anyone.
Thanks!

Since you live so close to the Romney maybe you should ride over there, I’m sure there will be plenty of riders there with different seats that they would be willing to let you use for a test ride .

Well I just bought a Sargent, we'll see how that works. If anyone has a Touratech or Seat Concepts they can let go of for a couple of weeks, I'd be happy to pay shipping both ways to try it out.

I have a Suzuki DR650 and here is what I did though it may not apply to the Tenere seat, I've only sat on one for a little time and don't own one, yet.

If you look at a bicycle seat, on some there is a cutout down the middle for the perineum. This is so your junk doesn't fall asleep and fall off. My seat was closed cell foam which I imagine they all are. With the cover filled with foam and nowhere to gravitate to when sat on or the ability to move around to provide cush, it feels pretty hard. I took the cover off and cut a valley down the middle not quite the length of the seat, recommend around 1/2" to 3/4" wide and a little deeper though I don't know how deep the foam is on the Tenere seat. This takes the pressure off the perineum and provides a place for the foam to move to and conform to your ass. Works well on my DR and I don't have any problems riding anymore though I haven't rode for any long durations yet, but it didn't cost anything and beat buying another seat which a lot of people do. It does take a pretty good stapler to reattach the cover.

Good luck neighbor.

I was interested in buying that Sargent but I had a busy day with work yesterday which really limited my ability to follow through and I just did not know enough about the Sargent to spontaneously buy it.
I will follow up with you after a while to see what you think about the seat if you do not mind. Aftermarket seat options are just as crazy and confusing as trying to choose which type/brand of oil and tires to run on a S10….

Michelin Anakee Adventure.

I'll catch up with you in a couple weeks and give you an update. I'll try to get a couple long days in before the FZ1 Rally the 5th of June. I've had a Sargent on my VFR800 in the past and it was a good seat. My FZ1s, both Gen1 and Gen2 always had Corbin and were perfect. I think the more upright position of the S10 changes the way I feel about the Corbin on it. It's not bad, but if I forget my Moto-Skivees, it gets rough after 250 miles.
If you want to try either seat, let me know and we can get them shipped to you to try out, before dropping coin on a seat.

Good-to-go….
Appreciate your generous and quite helpful offer!
Most folks these days would never go out of their way like that for a stranger on the other end of a screen & keyboard.
Enjoy your Fizzer get together.
Cheers,

That's what we're all here for, I felt silly putting the Wanted post out there, but you never know until you ask. If someone burns me, a $200 seat won't ruin my life.

That’s why God made Sick Days :)
I wish. We have a couple of big commercial projects rolling right now and despite the high cost of building materials, people with lots of money are still building big house, someone has to wire them! I have decided to cut down to 5 days a since January. The last 3 years have been 6-7 days a week and all I got out of it was more taxes and less riding. I went from 15k miles/year to 4k. Have to have better balance.

Well for what it’s worth, don’t overthink think this. Most of us can’t deal with the stock seat. The vast majority have gone the Russel Day Long seat route. Never heard a complaint in fact I have one and two riders in my group do as well. They ride Beemers. I can put in a 14 hour day when I have to. And this is with no backrest.

I tried a couple of others sent them back wast of time.

Bought a Sargent Gel seat set. Avoid it if you are a heavy older person. I will post it for sale if you decide it is for you. Really would like a trade. Heard seat concepts RDL and Sargent are good. I have rule one out.

I didn't think they made a Gel seat. I've only ever had foam seats from Sargent.

vast majority , only seen one on a Tenere since 2012 .... it's a great seat , probably the most comfortable seat I've set on . but it is ugly... if one can get past the looks get one . as for me my Corbin does a great job. and as for gel seats , gel gets hot in the sun so might cook your boys . but I live in Texas , its always hot here.

Search the forum it pops up a lot. Hell conduct a poll. I think someone did. At any rate it’s comfortable for me.
