Okay, I tried clipping the wires from the old one and connecting them to the new one and I dont get any reading when I turn on the bike. Then, I tested running the leads directly to the battery and it lights up, so I can't figure out why it doesn't seem to work through the original circuit. Any suggestions among you gurus out there?

Thanks
Never mind, I may have found the problem. This 2013 is new to me and I have found the 3A fuse is bad. I'll replace it and see if that works.

Nope, had that part figured out, I hope after spending 4 years in the Navy as an Electronics Technician (although we're talking about 1965-69). I'm looking for a replacement fuse to see if that solves the problem. One in bike, which I just got a week ago, is blown. When I replace it, we'll see what happens (i.e., maybe blown before I got the bike). Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Okay, folks, it was a simple case of the 3A fuse having been blown. Of course, I didn't know if it was blown when I picked up the bike a week ago or if I somehow made it happen during my install, but it looks like the former. New fuse in and all is well.
